Get ready for some monster sized action in Rage to Riches, a 5 reel 20 payline video slot from Play ‘N Go. Watch Godzilla, King Kong and a giant werewolf cause carnage and in the process deliver tumbling reels, free spins and a pick me bonus feature that can delivers 100 times your total stake. Join the big beasts in the urban jungle from between 20p and £100 per spin.
Available to play on desktop, mobile and tablet, Rage to Riches has the look and feel of a cult ‘creature feature’ movie. Set against a series of apartment block buildings, the reels are dominated by graffiti style playing card values and the three big beasts.
The first thing you’ll notice is that Rage to Riches uses tumbling reels – after every winning spin, the successful symbols will be blasted from the reels with the symbols above falling in their place, giving a second opportunity to win. The tumbles keep on coming as long as there’s a winning combo on show. Each successful tumble also increases the multiplier – it starts at 1x but can reach up to 5x if you get on a roll.
Look out too for scatter wins when the 10, J, Q, K and A symbols land in order from left to right. Every time this happens a star will be added to the meter above the reels. When you collect 5 stars, you’ll activate the Collect feature which is a novel take on a pick ‘em round.
King Kong climbs up the apartment blocks, smashes the windows and reveals a series of cash bonuses. If the giant ape swings in the right places payouts of up to 100 times your total stake can be won in this round.
There is also a Free Spins feature which is triggered when you land 3 scatter symbols (the girl with the hairdryer) anywhere on the reels. You’ll be awarded 10 free games but these can be re-triggered with up to 50 spins available in total. Remember that the tumbling reels applies meaning all free spins can be subject to a 5x multiplier!
Play ‘N Go have done a nice job conjuring up the feel of a classic big beast movie. The visuals are nicely done and the thundering sounds that accompany the action as the giant creatures lumber across the reels certainly add to the menacing mood.
There’s plenty of action on show here too – the variance is on the low side of medium so expect regular smaller wins rather than anything amazingly explosive. The tumbling reels fit the theme nicely and the pick me bonus round and free spins are decent enough.
If the apartment blocks start rumbling these monsters can still deliver some beastly amounts of coinage. I do prefer higher variance titles and Play ‘N Go offer others like Happy Halloween and Royal Masquerade which are superb.
