Visually, you will see the same cartoon graphics used in other previous slots (Hugo and Hugo 2) – the game is set at sea and in the air. With A, K, Q, J and 10 card suits, you will see bird pilots, troll stewardesses and monkey mechanics. Hugo, acting as an aviator, is the wild symbol – he substitutes for all symbols (bar the scatter) and will give you 2.5, 7.5 or 50 times your stake for 3, 4 or 5 on a payline.
When it comes to bonus features, Hugo’s Adventure comes with 2. First up is the Underwater Adventure feature which is played when you get 2 submarine bonus scatters on the reels at the same time (on reels 2 and 4). The submarine then spins giving you 1, 2 or 3 lives. You then choose treasures under the sea which will give you a cash bonus.
Some treasure picks will contain danger – this takes away 1 life. At the end of the feature, each life you have left will see the golden submarine spin to give you a multiplier of 2x, 3x or 5x. This multiplier is then applied to the sum of your winnings from your picks. If you had 2 or 3 lives at the end of the feature, the multipliers are combined.
Look out for the aeroplane free spins feature – when 3 appear (on reels 1, 3 and 5), you will trigger the Air Ace feature where you will get 9 free spins and 1 life. Look out for +1 balloons landing as this will give you an additional life – if an air mine strikes Hugo, a life will be lost. You can also win more free spins with a maximum of 20 in total available.
