Enjoy all the fun of the fair in Golden Ticket, a colourful circus-themed slot created by Play ’N Go. The action takes place on a 5×5 grid with winning combinations created by landing 3 or more matching symbols vertically or horizontally. Look out for symbol drop wins, multipliers extra wilds and a free spins round. Enjoy the show from between 20p and £100 per spin.

A trip to the circus can be a feast for the senses and that’s certainly the case with this online version which looks and sounds superb. With stalls, tents and caravans in the background, the 5×5 reel grid is filled with circus related symbols. They include leotard-wearing strongmen, clowns, top hats, dumb bells and juggling clubs. Overseeing the action are a sad faced clown, strongman or ring master. The top paying standard symbol pays 0.5, 2.5 or 25 times your total stake if you land 3, 4 or 5 of them in combination.

Those winning combinations are created by landing 3 or more of the same symbol horizontally or vertically. When that happens, the symbols are removed and new ones drop in and replace them. In the middle of the previous winning position will be a wild. Each successive symbol drop win also increases a multiplier by 1x. The symbol drops keep on coming as long as a new winning line is created. You can check on the size of the current multiplier via the meter to the left of the reels.

Golden Ticket also comes with a Bonus feature. Behind the reels you’ll see the letters that make up the word BONUS. If you get on a roll with the symbol drops and reveal all the letters in BONUS, you’ll activate the feature. You’ll then head to a new screen that’s dominated by a classic fairground shooting gallery. You’ll then get 10 shots (in effect spins) at a new selection of targets that include balloons, drums, ducks, targets, cakes, stars, elephants, lions and clowns.

In the bonus round, you need to land 5 of the same symbol to create a winner. The best of these is the clown face which awards a bumper haul of 175 times your stake if you land 10 in combination. Re-triggers are possible here too with up to 20 free spins in total.

Play ’N Go has created a beautifully designed slot here. There’s an old school charm to the visuals and the barrel organ soundtrack really conjures up a night at the fairground. Golden Ticket isn’t overflowing with extras but the symbol drop wins with multipliers keep the base game moving along tidily enough.

We found the Bonus feature quite tricky to hit but it offered some decent rewards when we did. The overall variance is in the medium range with potential wins of 20,578 times your stake if you get the maximum win from all the drop wins with the increasing multiplier.

This trip to the big top is an enjoyable one. You won’t find many slots that are better designed than this and there are enough moving parts to the gameplay to keep things interesting. If you’re looking for a circus themed slot, then Golden Ticket is somewhere near the top of the bill – I also suggest you try Chance Interactive’s Buster Hammer Carnival which also offers big wins.
