Dawn of Egypt Theme/Symbols
The Dawn of Egypt slot transports you to ancient Egypt (once again). With Horus falcon statues either side of the reels, it’s colourful and bright. Symbols include low value A, K, Q and J royals – you will also see lotus flowers, ankh crosses, scorpions, snakes, Bastet and Horus (the falcon god). Horus pays 4, 20 or 100 times your stake for 3, 4 or 5 in combination.
The scarab beetle is the wild symbol and can appear on any reel – it substitutes for all symbols except the scatter. Being a 10 payline slot game, winning combinations are formed by getting 3, 4 or 5 matching symbols across any of the 10 paylines.
Free Spins feature
The other pyramid, the scatter, can appear on any reel – 3 or more of them will activate the Free Spins feature. 3, 4 or 5 scatters will also pay 5, 20 or 1,000 times your stake respectively – the payouts can be from the scatters being in any position – not on a payline.
You will then spin the Wheel of the Gods where you’ll win 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15 or 20 free spins. On every free spin, a high value symbol is randomly selected – all lower value high paying symbols (not the royals) will be upgraded to the chosen high paying symbol. For example, if Horus is chosen, all other symbols (bar the royals) will transform into Horus for that free spin.
Pyramid Spins feature
During the feature, the scatter transforms into a wild scatter symbol – it acts like a wild symbol substituting for all symbols now. If 2 or more wild scatters appear on a given free spin, you will trigger the Pyramid Spins feature. The selected symbol upgrade on the triggering free spin is in play throughout the Pyramid Spins feature.
Every wild scatter symbol that activates the Pyramid Spins feature gives you up to 4 Pyramid Spins – this can lead to 20 Pyramid Spins initially. The good news is that you can retrigger the feature indefinitely. Once the Pyramid Spins are over, any remaining free spins will conclude.
Dawn of Egypt thoughts
The Dawn of Egypt slot follows a long line of ancient Egyptian themed slots by Play ‘n GO. Variance wise, its medium to high (7/10) with the RTP at 96.23%. The max win is 5,000 x stake in total but per spin or free spin, the most you can win is 1,000 x stake (by filling the reels with the high value Horus symbol) – you can also do this by triggering the Free Spins feature with 5 scatters.
Compared to Play ‘n GO’s other games, Dawn of Egypt looks just as good but has lower win potential – if you take Book of Dead, you can win up to 5,000 x stake on each spin or free spin. The slot I would recommend is Ankh of Anubis though as you can pocket 15,000 x stake on every spin or free spin.
