Visually, I think Contact is Play ‘N Go’s best-looking slot to date – with ancient temples in the backdrop and an enchanting soundtrack, you will notice it’s optimised to play in mobile portrait mode (when you have your phone up vertically). With a Mayan theme, you will notice that symbols drop down in the grid – you can form wins when you get 5 or more matching symbols in a connected cluster, either horizontally and/or vertically.
Symbols include 5 animal carvings as well as 4 Mayan masks – the purple one is the most lucrative giving you 1.5 times your stake for each symbol in a cluster (5 giving you 7.5 times your stake for example). When you get a winning cluster, it won’t be removed – non-winning symbols are removed with the winning ones cascading down to lock in place. New symbols appear from above to increase the size of your cluster or create new ones. This continues until no more new winning combinations are formed.
Contact benefits from a Win Multiplier feature – if you fill the entire 2nd, 4th or 6th row with winning symbols, a multiplier of 2x, 3x or 4x respectively will be applied. If you manage to build winning clusters all the way to the top row, you will trigger the Bonus Round feature – if you fill the entire grid with winning symbols, you will play the Super Bonus Round feature.
The Bonus Round feature begins with 3 free spins and the Super Bonus Round feature starts with 6 free spins – winning clusters remain on the grid throughout all free spins meaning that you can only increase your winning potential in both features.
Now, in the Bonus Round feature, you can fill rows 2, 3, 5 or 6 with winning symbols to give you a multiplier of 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x respectively. If you fill rows 1, 4 or 7, you will benefit from 1 of 3 special features:
- Block Destroyer feature – destroys 1 of the multiplier blocks allows other multiplier blocks to cascade down with an additional multiplier block to fill from the top. This can increase the multiplier as a result.
- Symbol Upgrade feature – this upgrades 1 of the winning clusters to the next high paying symbol.
- Extra Free Spins feature – this simply gives you 1 more free spin.
When in the Super Bonus Round feature, any row containing winning clusters will give you a win multiplier as well as a special feature outlined above. These are more powerful than in the Bonus Round feature:
- Block Destroyer feature – destroys 3 of the multiplier blocks rather than 1. Furthermore, the multiplier increases up to 30x!
- Symbol Upgrade feature – upgrades all winning clusters to the next high value symbol
- Extra Free Spins feature – rewards you with 3 more free spins as opposed to 1
If you manage to fill the grid with winning symbols before the free spins have been used, you will get an additional prize of 25 times your stake for each remaining free spin.
Contact may seem complicated but it’s rather simple once you get playing – it’s all about forming winning clusters and benefitting from multipliers from filling various rows. The bigger wins will come from the Super Bonus Round feature as the 30x multiplier can lead to wins of 1,517.5 times your total stake – as with most Play ‘N Go slots, it’s high variance.
Overall, Contact is another brilliant slot from Play ‘N Go – it takes the whole grid slot concept to a whole different level in my opinion. The potential max win isn’t as big as Viking Runecraft but Contact is well worth playing.
