Epic Hellas Slot RTP, Details & Wager Limits
There’s a familiar sight on show when you load up the Epic Hellas slot game by Peter & Sons. It uses a 5×3 grid, so it has a standard layout. However, it brings 50 paylines, helping to differentiate it from other online slots. A minimum of 3 matching symbols on a line creates a win, so there are plenty of chances to make payouts. While it won’t match up to Megaways slots, it’s still above average.
You can play 10p spins in the Epic Hellas slot game, making it accessible for players with lower funds. The upper limit is £100, ensuring it’s available for high rollers at top slot sites. The stake control is in the bottom-right corner, opening up a full menu when you click it. If you’re playing outside of UK online casinos, you can set up turbo spin and autoplay functions. The spin control is a large circle on the right-hand side and is simple to spot.
The Epic Hellas RTP is 96.47%, which is above the industry average. I was glad to see this, as I’ve recently seen many new slots with sub-95% RTPs. The hit frequency is 34.69%, which matches the medium volatility well. While playing the free slots version for my Epic Hellas review, it certainly felt like medium volatility, ensuring it didn’t become boring.
At 2,500x the stake, the Epic Hellas max win is rather low. This would have been a solid win a decade ago, but with lots of medium-variance games offering 5,000x payouts or higher, it diminishes what it offers. The Free Spin feature is the best way to grab the biggest wins, and I managed over 100x my stake multiple times in the Epic Hellas demo.
Epic Hellas Theme—Ancient Greek Shenanigans With a Twist
Peter & Sons has achieved something special with Epic Hellas. The game uses a common slot trope with the Ancient Greek theme, but the visual style is unique. As a result, it looks both innovative and familiar simultaneously. I have seen so many Greek-themed slots I never thought I would see anything new again, but Epic Hellas has a genuinely new design.
The symbols and the background all look like they are from a modern animation studio, which helps the game stand out. All visuals combine 2D and 3D styles, so they can safely be described as 2.5D. I’d say the colour scheme is a washed pastel, softening all images. I like how it looks, and it’s a change from most other games on the market.
The sounds are subdued. While they are more generic than the visuals, they’re not bad. They can’t compete with the best online slots, but you also won’t end up turning the sound down at Epic Hellas casinos.

Epic Hellas Mobile Slot
I noticed no significant differences between the Epic Hellas mobile slot and the desktop version. The control layout is familiar, and the visuals remain sharp. At the same time, the sounds are just as crisp through my mobile speakers. The Epic Hellas conversion won’t let you down if you’re a mobile casino player.
Epic Hellas Bonus Features
Although the visuals take an innovative approach, the opposite is the case when it comes to the Epic Hellas bonus features. They’re highly risk-averse and don’t bring anything new to the market.
Bonus Game
If you land 6 or more coins on the reels simultaneously, you will trigger the Bonus Game. It works as a hold-and-spin round, awarding 3 lives to begin. All symbols apart from coins vanish from the reels, and if another coin lands, it resets the lives to 3.
All coins have values that pay out 1 or more times the stake. If you land a big coin, it will award 20, 50, or even 200x the bet. Filling the reels pays the 1,000x Grand Prize and counts up the value of all coins on the screen.
Free Spins
Landing 3 or more scatter symbols awards 5 free spins. During this round, the middle 3 reels land giant symbols. They will cover all 3 reels and can help create significant wins. Scatters and coins can land as giant symbols, too.
If you land another scatter, it awards 3 extra spins and a payout. Landing giant coins will begin the Bonus Game. If you enter the bonus game, it returns to your remaining free spins when it ends.
Bonus Buy (Not Available in the UK)
There are 2 Bonus Buy options available in Epic Hellas. If you want to jump to the Bonus Game instantly, you can pay 27x your stake. Starting the Free Spins round costs 55x your stake.
Epic Hellas Verdict: A Good Start That Slows Down
When I first loaded the Epic Hellas slot, I was excited. The visuals looked appealing and had a fresh take. I was expecting a game that would break boundaries and show me something new. Unfortunately, it seems like Peter & Sons ran out of inspiration after doing the graphics.
While I don’t think Epic Hellas is a poor game, I think there’s more to do with its potential. The theme alone is a different way of approaching Ancient Greek slots, and I wish they’d tried something new with the features. You’ll enjoy this game if you like slots with classic features and don’t mind a smaller payout. However, other Ancient Greek slots do a better job if you want to play for bigger wins.
Norse Mythology slots take a similar approach to Greek games, and Vikings Go Berzerk Reloaded (Yggdrasil Gaming) is an excellent alternative. It also offers a max payout 10x higher at 25,000x the bet.
