Secret Elixir is a Novomatic-powered video slot with 5 reels and 10 paylines. Alchemists have tried for centuries to create the fabled philosopher’s stone which would give them the power to transmute base metals into gold or silver. They also tried to develop the elixir of life. So far no one has succeeded. Here in Secret Elixir, Novomatic found an esoteric way of making you win money!
What is innovative in Secret Elixir is that reel 5 is dedicated to elixir bottles that multiply bet line wins. In the regular game the bottle changes position and value for every spin. Secret Elixir slot features, scatter symbols, wild symbols, multipliers, a gamble option and a free spins feature.
The most valuable symbols are the alchemist with glasses and the other 2 alchemists. Four alchemist with glasses symbols on an enabled bet line pays you 1,000 times your stake. The other 2 alchemists award you with 200 times your stake for 4 identical symbols on an active payline. If you get a multiplier on the 5th reel it gets even better!
Secret Elixir slot is a medium to high variance slot, you gain a lot from the fifth reel in free spin mode but in regular mode you lose 2/3 of that reel. The alchemist with reading glasses is a wild symbol and can act as a substitute for any symbols to form winning combinations, except for the scatter symbol.
To get a winning combinations you need to have the same symbol on an active payline on the first 4 reels. I’ve not had many big wins in the base game (maybe 30x times my stake maximum) but have been quite fortunate in the feature a few times. My best outcome was a whopping 320 times my stake!
