Kingdom of Legend is a 5 reel, 40 payline slot from Novomatic that can be played from 40p to £100 per spin across desktop, mobile and tablet devices. Prepare yourself for an epic battle as your aim is to defeat wild hordes of Orcs and win treasures that have been locked away for years.

This isn’t a typical Novomatic slot aesthetically – it looks absolutely fantastic as you could easily confuse it for a blockbuster film as it has obviously drawn inspiration from The Lord of the Rings movies. With a thumping and grand soundtrack, symbols on the reels include an elf princess, 2 warriors (who resemble Aragorn and Gimli).

There is also a wild symbol which is the wizard – this wild helps you in your adventure as it substitutes for all symbols except for the Bonus Wheel scatter. When it comes to bonus features, there are 3 to benefit from – details are as follows:

You have the Orc Bonus feature which is triggered randomly when no winning combination lands in the base game – an Orc can appear to give you a cash prize of up to 500 times your stake or access to the Bonus Wheel feature.

The Bonus Wheel feature is played if 2 matching halves of a bonus wheel symbol which appear on reels 1, 2, 4 and 5 (the Bonus Wheel symbols are 2 symbols high by the way). You then get to spin the Bonus Wheel to receive a cash prize or free spins.

You can win up to 10 free spins, a cash prize of up to 30 times your stake or a spin on the Super Wheel where you can win a whopping 1,000 times your stake! Spins of the bonus wheel continue until you land on ‘Collect’.

Finally, there’s a Free Games feature which can only be accessed from the Super Wheel – you will get up to 10 free spins. During the feature, wild symbols become Lightning Wilds – these turn some adjacent symbols into wild symbols for big wins.

I must admit, I rather love Kingdom of Legend – it doesn’t only look superb but it has the bonus features to match. I found the Orc Bonus feature to be quite hit and miss with prizes mostly of 10-20 times my stake. It’s all about the Bonus Wheel Feature and more specifically spinning the Super Wheel.

I have won the top prize of 1,000 times my stake once. I also found the free spins to be lucrative due to the Lightning Wilds with an overall win of 625 times my stake my best outcome to date. Thumbs up to Novomatic for a superb game which is medium to high variance. If you like the blockbuster feel to Kingdom of Legend, I highly recommend Microgaming’s Game of Thrones.
