Eye of the Dragon is a Novomatic-powered slot with 5 reels and 10 paylines. Playable from 10p to £50 per spin, you are taken to a magical world of the green dragon where you’ll get 10 free spins with a special expanding symbol – hopefully it’s a high value one!
Visually, I must say Eye of the Dragon looks rather good – set on plain black reels, you are taken to a magical world ruled by dragons. Your aim is to find the fearsome green dragon for treasures beyond your wildest dreams if you manage to survive.
Symbols on the reels include A, K, Q, J and 10 playing cards as well as beautiful white horses and white tigers. You also have brave warriors and red-headed female warriors. She is the most lucrative symbol giving you a whopping 500 times your stake for 5 across a payline.
The green dragon’s eye is the wild and scatter symbol in Eye of the Dragon – it therefore substitutes for all other symbols on the reels. 3, 4 or 5 on a payline will give you 2, 20 or 200 times your stake – it will also activate the Free Games feature where you will be rewarded with 10 free spins.
Prior to the free spins beginning, 1 symbol is randomly chosen to become the special expanding symbol – this chosen symbol will expand to take over the whole reel its on when it lands. If you get a few on a free spin, you could end up with a screen full of the same symbol. To win big, you would need the higher value symbols such as the male and female warriors.
I really like Eye of the Dragon as it uses Novomatic’s tried and tested game engine of a special expanding symbol in the Free Games feature (think Book of Ra Deluxe or Lord of the Ocean). Highly volatile, it’s another superb option if you like the feature – if you like the theme, I highly recommend WMS’ Viking Vanguard which is also high variance.
