Tombstone No Mercy uses a rather unusual game engine. The five reels are made up of 2x3x3x3x2 symbols which together offer 108 ways to win. To form a winning combination, land 3, 4 or 5 matching symbols or wilds on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel. 

You can join the action at bet levels of between 20p and £100 per spin. Adjust your stake by clicking on the coins icon then choosing from the bet levels shown.

Theme: take aim at a Wild West jackpot

There’s a sepia-tinged look to the visuals in Tombstone No Mercy that transports players back to the wild American frontier. The reels are set within a wooden shack. There you’ll find A, K, Q and J royals alongside a revolver, horseshoes, a bag of loot, gold bars and sticks of dynamite. 

The three outlaws – horse thief Skinny Joe, bank robber Edda Star and notorious bandit El Gordo are wild and appear on Wanted posters. 

There are also Sheriff and Marshall Badges, and a $$$ symbol which is a scatter. These symbols trigger a variety of extras depending on which combination falls. 

There’s a comic book quality to the visuals here which I liked. The twangy soundtrack could come straight out of a spaghetti western movie too and complements the imagery superbly. The design is simple but works really well.

Tombstone No Mercy Mobile

Land 3 scatters on the same spin and you’ll receive 10 free Gunslinger Spins. Outlaw Wilds deliver unlimited multipliers which can increase throughout the round. Once again, each nudge boosts the value of the multiplier by 1x. Landing 1 or 2 scatters adds another 2 or 3 free spins to your total. 

Bounty Spins

Trigger this round by landing a Sheriff Badge on reel 1, scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4 and the Marshall’s Badge on reel 5. Nolimit City has toned things down a little with Tombstone No Mercy, but the bonus features still pack a punch. However, those outside the UK may enjoy it more as there are tons of bonus buy options.

Many of the elements that made the original Tombstone slot and its sequel, Tombstone RIP, so popular are present and correct in the latest outing for El Gordo, Skinny Joe and Edda Star. 

A range of free spin bonuses plus wilds are central to the gameplay, just like the previous releases in the series. I liked this combination. The sky-high volatility here can be brutal though. On one trigger of the Gunslinger Spins, I won less then 1 x stake! If the nudging wilds fall nicely in the Gunslinger Spins, it can be a very different story though. This is a proper high-risk slot. 

I really liked the old-school design in Tombstone No Mercy. This is a slot that delivers plenty of atmosphere. It’s dirty and gritty, just like its subject matter.

No Limit City has toned some things down from the previous slots in the series though. The theme and visuals are less blood-curdling and brutal than Tombstone RIP which was real X certificate fare. The maximum win of 16,480 x stake is much lower than the enormous 300,000 x stake on offer in RIP too. 

With their super volatile gameplay and often violent theme, Tombstone slots have always been something of an acquired taste. If you’ve enjoyed the previous releases, you’ll find plenty to like in Tombstone No Mercy.
