Like most of the recent releases from Nolimit City, the design in Stockholm Syndrome is terrific. With a bank in the background, the reels are surrounded by police cars and sharp-shooting marksmen. Symbols on the reels include the letters P, O, L, I and S, four different hostages and a gun-toting bank robber. There are also wild and bonus symbols. The visuals are done comic-book-style and are superb.

The soundtrack could come from a 1970s heist movie and is punctuated by gunshots and blaring sirens. It’s all very impressive.

Polis Feature

Land the letters so they spell out the word POLIS to trigger this round. Four symbol positions are shown. Each one shows a coin value which is locked behind bars. A key unlocks one of the coins which is then awarded as a prize. These coins are worth 5, 10, 25, 100, 250, 1,000, 5,000 x or the better still, the Max Win.

SOS Feature

This activates when letter symbols spell out SOS. The O symbol then transforms into an xBomb wild. In the base game, the SOS feature only triggers on spins with no win or avalanche. It always triggers in the free spin rounds though.

PISS Feature

Land the letters PISS in a vertical line to trigger this feature. The letters transform into xBomb wilds. Like the SOS, this only activates in the base game on spins with no wins or avalanches. In the bonuses, it always activates.

When it comes to innovation, there are few better slot providers than Nolimit City, and they’ve come up trumps once again with Stockholm Syndrome. The theme is typically unusual, the design is terrific and there’s a great variety on offer when it comes to bonuses and features.

It’s not as crazy as, say, Kenneth Must Die or as bloodthirsty as Tombstone RIP, but the theme is still quite ‘out there’. Being wacky for the sake of it just won’t cut it, though, and thankfully, Nolimit City has backed it up in Stockholm Syndrome with some top gameplay.

Like most slots from this developer, Stockholm Syndrome won’t be to everyone’s taste. If you like trying things that are a little different or you’ve enjoyed previous Nolimit City releases, this crime caper should appeal.
