Tianlong is a 5 reel, 10 payline slot powered by NextGen Gaming and has been produced in conjunction with GamesLab. Playable on desktop, mobile and tablet devices from 10p to £250 per spin, it has a Chinese mythology theme which is based on a flying dragon.

Graphically, the background blossoms with Cherry trees behind the reels - the soundtrack is very relaxing and something that wouldn’t be out of a place in a spa. Set under a traditional temple, symbols on the reels include bonsai trees, beads, flowers, pebbles, mountains and pagodas.

The Tianlong (the flying dragon) is the wild symbol and only lands on the middle 3 reel – it replaces all symbols except the scattered Phoenix. The good thing is that the Tianlong expands to cover all positions on the reel when it’s part of a winning combination – you will also trigger the Wild Re-Spin feature where you are awarded a re-spin – the expanded Tianlong is held whilst the other reels re-spin. You can get up to 3 re-spins with up to 3 wild reels!

There is also a Free Game feature which is played when the Phoenix scatter symbol lands simultaneously on reels 2, 3 and 4. You will be given 15 free spins with all wins subject to a 2x multiplier. You can also retrigger the feature potentially giving you 30 free spins. The Wild Re-Spin feature also applies to look out for those Tianlong wilds on the reels!

I really like Tianlong – the graphics and animations are superb with win potential to match. The Wild Re-Spin feature is key to winning big in this game as the appeal of 3 fully wild reels in both the base game and free spins feature is too good to miss. Variance wise, I consider it to be a medium to high variance title. If you like Chinese themed slots, there are plenty about with Yggdrasil Gaming’s Monkey King recommended.
