Medusa Slot Review
Medusa is based on the legendary Medusa story (a woman with snakes as hair springs to mind) – it is a 5 reel 25 payline video slot that can be played from just 25p a spin (up to £125 a spin). It has a few bonus features which are now described below.
Look out for the Medusa symbol, which is the wild, as 3 of them can turn 1 of the 3 middle reels into stone. 1 of the reels is chosen and will crack to reveal an expanding wild. This wild reel then remains in place for 3 re-spins. Furthermore, they are subject to a 3x multiplier. This is the Turn to Stone Re-Spins feature.
I particular like the Once Bitten Bonus feature which can be activated by obtaining 3 or more Medusa logo symbols anywhere in view. You are awarded 10 free spins with a 2x multiplier. You can also trigger an extra 10 free spins by getting 3 Medusa logo symbols during the feature.
The Soldier symbol on the middle reel is important as this will give you up to 4 Super Spins every time it appears. After the normal free spins play out, the Super Spins begin – they are all subject to a huge 5x multiplier. This is where your big wins tend to come from.
Lastly, there’s the Pegasus Bonus feature which you can trigger by getting 3 Pegasus symbols anywhere in view. This is a classic ‘Pick Me’ feature where you need to select a Pegasus symbol to reveal your prize. You can win up to 50 times your bet here as well as ‘Pick Again’ and ‘Win All’ prizes too. The Pegasus Bonus feature can be the most lucrative as you can enter it during the Once Bitten Bonus feature and Super Spins – if this happens, winnings will be subject to the respective 2x or 5x multiplier.
NextGen Gaming have since created Medusa II which is graphically better but not as appealing as the original in my opinion for some reason. No NextGen Gaming game can compare to the brilliant 300 Shields due to the potential or huge wins. I also recommend you play Avalon II which is very good and quite similar in many ways.
