King Kong Fury is a 5 reel, 4 row, 50 payline slot from NextGen Gaming that can be played from 25p to £500 per spin on desktop, mobile and tablet devices. You are taken to Skull Island as Kong battles monstrous beasts in this feature-packed offering – it comes with 2 randomly triggered bonus features as well as the King of Skull Island Free Games feature where you can begin with up to 100 free spins – with more on offer, there’s also a Raging Re-Spins feature where full wild stacks give you free re-spins during the free spins.
The game is based on the 2017 Kong: Skull Island film so comes with superb imagery and animations – symbols on the reels include A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9 playing cards as well as a series of beasts like triceratops, tyrannosaurus rexes, pterodactyls, bugs and snakes. The tyrannosaurus rex is the most lucrative symbol giving you 10 times your stake for 5 on a payline. Kong is the wild symbol and replaces all symbol bar the Bonus scatter – it only appears on the 3 middle reels.
When it comes to bonus features, King Kong Fury has a few – in the base game, look out for the Lightning Reel appearing on any spin as this can add up to 15 beast symbols to the reels. A randomly chosen beast is revealed and then added to the reels which can result in big wins – this is known as the Lightning Reel feature.
Then you have the Kong’s Call feature where on any spin you will hear the Native’s chant – Kong is then summoned and then adds up to 12 wild symbols to give you gigantic wins.
The main attraction is the King of Skull Island Free Games feature which is triggered when the Bonus symbol, Anne Darrow, appears on reels 1 and 5 simultaneously – you then get 4 times your stake. Then, you will spin the statue reels to reveal either 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 free spins each – these values are then multiplied. This means you could begin with as little as 9 free spins or as many as 100 free spins (e.g. 3x3 or 10x10).
During the feature, you can retrigger multiple times giving you multiple chances to win more free spins – there are no limits to how many free spins you can play with. More importantly, there’s a Raging Re-Spins feature which only comes into play during the free spins – look out for a full wild stack as it remains held whilst the other reels re-spin. More full wild stacks appearing will give you additional re-spins (with the full wild stack held). Finally, the 2 randomly triggered base game features also can be triggered during the free spins for even bigger wins!
As you can see, the King of Skull Island Free Games feature is where the bigger wins should come from seeing that you can get plenty of re-spins with locked stacked wild reels in place. In fact, the win potential is the same in the base game than on each free spin/re-spin with a whopping 12,500 times your stake to be won on each spin!
It’s a medium to high variance slot which looks fantastic, has superb bonus features and big win potential throughout – a top game from NextGen Gaming. I also suggest you try some of NextGen Gaming’s other great titles with 300 Shields and Medusa II 2 of my favourites.
