Judge Dredd Slot Review
Judge Dredd is a NextGen Gaming-powered video slot with 5 reels and 25 paylines. The game is based on 2000 AD’s Judge Dredd character which was made into a film – it was played by Sylvester Stallone. The character was made famous in comic book, graphic novels and more recently a blockbuster film. You can play from as little as 25p to 50p a spin to as much as £50 to £100 a spin (explanation below).
The game uses the SuperBet feature which is an additional wager that can be adjusted – this is found to the right-hand side of the reels. It will be on SuperBet Yellow meaning that Dredd wilds appear on reel 3 only. If you choose SuperBet Orange, the minimum/maximum stake will go up to 35p/£70 but Dredd wilds can appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. If you choose SuperBet Red, the minimum/maximum stake will go up to 35p/£100 but Dredd wilds can appear on all reels (1 to 5).
In terms of bonus features, there are a couple. Firstly there’s the I Am The Law feature which is quite simple. Judge Dredd can appear after any winning spins to give you a cash prize – this normally is between 5 and 10 times your stake. However, the real action is in the Free Games feature.
This is activated when you get 3 or more Badge symbols anywhere on the reels – you are rewarded with 10 free spins with a 2x multiplier meaning all winnings are doubled. Now, this game comes to life here as Judge Dredd makes wilds appear more frequently. This means your winning potential is higher which should lead to bigger wins. The good thing is that you can also get additional free spins if you get 3 Badges during the feature.
I’ve played Judge Dredd quite a bit and I found it to be a medium variance game. I didn’t trigger the Free Games feature very often at all – once twice in about 1,000 spins. The wait was worth it though as I won over 250 times my stake on both occasions (maybe I got lucky). In conclusion, I quite like the Judge Dredd slot – I liked the film so the imagery appeals but it’s a good game with big wins possible (especially in the free spins feature). If you want something a bit higher variance, you can try 300 Shields (also by NextGen Gaming).
