Jack’s Beanstalk is brought to you by NextGen Gaming and has 5 reels and 25 paylines. Playable from 25p to £50 a spin, it’s based loosely on the English fairy tale which features the archetypal Cornish hero that is Jack. He young boy tries to help his widowed mother by trying to take their cow to market when he comes across an old man offering him magic beans in exchange for the cow. These beans grow a gigantic beanstalk which takes Jack to a land high in the sky where he steals riches from the giant.
The slot game benefits from a Golden Egg Bonus feature and Upwild feature. The Upwild feature is triggered when 1 or more Magic Beans lands anywhere on reels 2, 3 and 4 (the 3 middle ones). Magic Beans are the wilds and they will grow upwards from beneath that reel, 1 position per free spin for 3 spins (it then disappears).
This means it turns into a Wild Beanstalk which can be retriggered whenever a Magic Bean symbol lands on the reels. I’ve had 9 free spins in total which have proved very fruitful and with wins over 100 times my stake. This is because I’ve had 3 wild reels in total!
Then you have the Golden Egg Bonus feature which is played when you get 3 Golden Eggs anywhere on the reels. You then select 3 Geese to reveal cash prizes up to 2,500 times your stake. It will give you smaller wins most times but it triggers fairly frequently which always helps.
I found Jack’s Beanstalk to be a low to medium variance game with the bigger wins coming in the Upwild feature as you have the potential to get 3 fully wild reels (or Wild Beanstalk as they are known). It’s not the best game produced by NextGen Gaming variance game (think 300 Shields) but I love the theme, graphics and animations. If you like the theme though, Jack and the Beanstalk by NetEnt is very good.
