Eastern Dragon Slot Review

Eastern Dragon is a 5 reel, 20 payline game released by NextGen Gaming. This is an oriental themed slot with symbols including koi carps, Ching golden coins, firecrackers and paper lanterns with the Chinese style that looks so much like calligraphy. In Chinese culture, the dragon is a symbol of good luck – the Ching coins are symbols of prosperity and are sometimes used today to predict fortune in Ching. Eastern Dragon slot features wilds, scatters and a free spin feature. The minimal stake is 20p per spin and the maximum is £40 per spin.

The koi carp is the highest paying symbol in the game as 5 of them gives you 150 times my stake with the second best paying symbol being the lantern and giving you 50 times your stake for 5. There are 5 symbols that form winning combinations with just 2 identical symbols – they are the Ching golden coin, the lantern and the lotus flower, firecrackers and the koi carp. All other symbols need three identical symbols to for a winning line.

Anyway, the dragon is a wild symbol – it appears only on reels 1 and 5. When you get the dragon wild on both reels 1 and 5 5 simultaneously it triggers the Free Spins feature. Here you received 15 free spins where all winnings are tripled (3x multiplier). If you have a winning combination with the dragon wild, your wins will be subject to a 6x multiplier! Finally, you can retrigger the feature if you get the dragon wild on both reels 1 and 5 during the feature.

Eastern Dragon is playable on mobile and tablet devices which is good. It’s a low to medium variance slot which will provide you with plenty of smaller wins quite frequently. I’ve managed to win just over 100 times my stake in the free spins feature just once. Let’s just hope the dragon can bring you good luck and fortune. Saying that, I prefer higher variance slots so I recommend the highly volatile 300 Shields (also by NextGen Gaming).
