Buccaneer’s Bay is powered by NextGen Gaming and Side City Studios and has 5 reels and 25 paylines. Playable from 25p to £625 per spin, it’s available to play on desktop, tablet and mobile devices including PCs, laptops, Androids and Apple products. It has an obvious pirate theme.

If you’ve played any Side City Studios/NextGen Gaming powered slots before, you’ll know what to expect – visually, Buccaneer’s Bay is good with a desert island as it’s backdrop. Symbols on the reels include treasure maps, guns, ship wheels, telescopes, compasses, skulls, pirate ships and pirates.

The male pirate with the patch looks awfully like Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean! The wild is a series of clogs (in gold) – it substitutes for all symbols except the scatter and is the highest value symbol rewarding you with 5,000 times your line stake for 5 on a payline.

The treasure chest, which is full of treasure, is the scatter – 3 or more will trigger the Free Games feature. 3 will give you 10 free spins whilst 4 gives you 15 free spins. If you manage to get 5, you will receive 20 free spins. Furthermore, all wins during the feature are subject to a 3x multiplier and trebled. The good thing is that you can retrigger the feature with a potential 40 free spins (with a 3x multiplier) on offer.

That’s it when it comes to bonus features – Buccaneer’s Bay is quite simple in terms of gameplay which I quite like. I found it to be a good old fashioned pirate themed game which is medium variance – you can’t go wrong with that in my opinion. Saying that, there are better Side City Studios/NextGen Gaming slots available with Egyptian Rise my favourite. If you like the pirate theme, Novomatic’s Red Lady is highly recommended.
