Steam Tower Slot Review
Steam Tower is a Net Entertainment-powered video slot with 5 reels and 15 paylines. It has a steampunk theme where you are taken on an exhilarating journey to the top of the tower. Inspired by the 19th century’s Victorian era and industrial design, the aim it to rescue the princess from the dragon (she is located at the top of the steam tower). You can play from as little as 15p a spin to as much as £150 a spin.
Steam Tower benefits from stacked wilds and a Free Spins feature with an increasing multiplier. However, in the base game, look out for stacked wilds as one or more will trigger the Free Spins feature. The game then ascends to the first floor. Look out for one or more wilds during the feature as these will give you an extra 2 free spins with the game ascending to the next floor.
You will notice below the reels there’s a Floor Meter (which tells you which floor you are on), a Multiplier Meter (which tells you the current multiplier) and the Tower Meter (which shows the current multiplier and your position in the tower).
You can climb the tower with every free spin until you reach the top floor (floor 16). Here you will be rewarded with a cash prize of 1,000 coins. Floors 1 to 3 give you a 2x multiplier, 3x multiplier for floors 4 to 6, 4x multiplier for floor 7 to 9, 5x multiplier for floors 10 to 12, 6x multiplier for floors 13 to 15 and a 7x multiplier for the 16th floor.
As you can see, the main wins will come in the Free Spins feature – winning in the feature is quite common with win amounts tending to be of a decent size. There is a massive 2,000 times your stake to be won but you will need stacked wilds on every reel. Saying that, I found Steam Tower to be a medium variance slot which is nicely balanced. It’s definitely a welcome addition to the NetEnt slots portfolio but still doesn’t come close to favourites like Blood Suckers or Piggy Riches.
