South Park Reel Chaos Slot Review
South Park Reel Chaos is the second South Park slot to be released by Net Entertainment – this time our friends are back as superheroes. The sequel has 5 reels and 20 paylines which can be played from 20p to £100 a spin. The fourth graders aim to protect their city from Professor Chaos and his evildoers.
The game features stacked wilds, multipliers, multiplying re-spins, overlay wilds and running bonus spins. It has 4 mini features in total as well as the Epic Bonus Spins feature. Needless to say that the graphics, animations and authentic sounds/voices are brilliant – you can’t expect anything less from NetEnt really.
Starting with the mini features you have Cartman’s Stacked Wilds feature – here Cartman hunts for General Disarray creating stacked wilds as he climbs up or slides down the reels. He will create 2 or 3 stacked wilds which can lead to decent wins.
Then you have Kenny’s Multiplier feature where the masked vigilante Kenny wrestles Professor Chaos to keep the town safe. A multiplier ranging from 3x to 5x is awarded to your line win.
Then there’s Stan’s Multiplying Re-Spin feature where Stan uses his mental powers to repair the reels with power tools. This creates re-spins on all 5 reels that continue until you have a winning combination. Your win will be subject to a win ranging from 2x to 10x – it’s a progressive multiplier which increases after a no win spin. You can win a whopping 1,212 times your stake if you’re lucky as this is the most lucrative of the mini features.
Finally you have Kyle’s Overlay Wilds feature where Kyle blasts evil minions with his laser beams. This creates 3 to 5 overlay wilds meaning you can have up to 5 wilds – if you get them in the right places, this can lead to very big wins. I’ve managed to win 200 times my stake here!
The main attraction is the Mintberry Crunch Epic Bonus Spins feature which is triggered by getting 3 Bonus symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5. Mintberry Crunch is half man, half berry and he fights all South Park foes (The Evil Minions, General Disarray, Professor Chaos and Anime Professor Chaos). The feature plays out until either all 4 villains or Mintberry Crunch are defeated.
For every enemy that is defeated, the bet line multiplier increases by 1 giving you up to 4 times your win. When the final enemy is defeated, a victory bonus is awarded (cash prize). Mintberry Crunch and the enemies have health meters – when the health meter is empty, the respective fighter is defeated. It’s hard to explain without seeing the game in action but you can win a cool 260 times your stake if you’re lucky. You can also watch this demo video below for a full rendition of the feature:
South Park Reel Chaos is much better than the original South Park slot as the variance seems to be higher. Bigger wins are possible which is what makes it more appealing to me. I found most of the wins tended to be on the smaller side but when I got big wins (over 100 times my stake), they came mainly from Cartman’s Stacked Wilds feature and Cartman’s Stacked Wilds feature. It’s not my favourite Net Entertainment slot but it surely is very entertaining – if you prefer more traditional slots with the potential for huge wins, you can’t go wrong with Dead or Alive or Piggy Riches (both by NetEnt too).
