Jack and the Beanstalk Slot Review
Jack and the Beanstalk is a 5 reel 20 payline slot powered by the impressive Net Entertainment (or NetEnt) – this premium game is based on the classic tale of a boy in search for riches in the land of giants. The game has some innovations in terms of the Treasure Collection feature. You can play the game from as little as 20p a spin to as much as £100 a spin.
Jack and the Beanstalk uses the all new Walking Wild feature – when a Walking Wild appears on any reel during the base game and free spins feature, you will get a re-spin (at no extra cost). The wild then moves 1 reel to the left which gives you more chances of winning.
Re-spins will continue as long as the wild is on the reels meaning it will stop once it’s reached the first one (the one of the far left). You can also get more Walking Wilds during the re-spins, this will carry on giving your re-spins until all the wilds are gone. The good thing though is that Walking Wilds have a 3x multiplier attached to them.
Then there’s the Free Spins feature where the Walking Wild feature also applies – you can trigger the free spins game by getting 3 or more Treasure Chest symbols anywhere on the reels which will reward you with 10 free spins. If you get 3 or more Treasure Chests during the feature, you will get a further 5 free spins (totalling 15 free spins). The good thing is that all free spins wins with wild symbols are multiplied by 3x.
Finally you have the Treasure Collection - during the free spins feature, you will see key symbols appear on reel 5. If you collect 3 keys, the next wild appearing on the reels will become a stacked wild of 2 money bags. If you collect a further 3 keys (so 6), new wilds changed into stacked wilds of 3 golden hens. Finally, if you collect a final extra 3 keys (9 in total), wilds become expanding golden harp wilds. When a stacked or expanding wild appears, it will move 1 reel to the left until it reaches the first reel with re-spins for big winning potential.
Jack and the Beanstalk is a medium variance game I would say with wins coming fairly frequently in the base game (about 1 in 3 spins). There’s a massive 1,500 times your stake available in both the base game and free spins feature – your best bet to get a big win is to collect 9 keys in the free spins feature which has led me to wins of over 500 times my stake (twice).
Saying that, I tend to walk away from the free spins feature with about 20-30 times my stake. On many occasions, I tend to win bigger in the base game with a few Walking Wilds. It’s one of NetEnt’s most popular slots and even though I like it, I prefer other NetEnt titles such as Dead or Alive or Starburst.
