Terminator 2 Slot Review
Terminator 2 is a Microgaming-powered video slot with 5 reels and 243 ways to win – you can play from as little as 30p a spin to as much as £30 a spin. The game is based on the iconic Terminator 2 Judgment Day film which was released in 1991. Directed by James Cameron, it stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and is famous for one-liners such as “I’ll be back” and “Hasta la Vista baby”.
The film is based on Sarah Connor and her son John who are running away from T-1000 as he attempts to kill John – this is because in the future he becomes the leader of the human resistance against machines. Arnie (who is a less advanced Terminator) is sent back through time to protect John.
The slot game encapsulates the film with scenes from the film and superb 3D graphics/animations and a brilliant soundtrack. There are metallic overlays on the reels and symbols as well as robotic animations – it provides quite an experience.
In the base game, non-winning spins can randomly activate the T-800 Vision feature. Here you will experience the game through the eyes of the Terminator as he scans for targets. You will receive a cash reward for all high end character symbols. The T-1000 symbol gives you the biggest cash bonus and is scanned last in the scanning process. However, look out for the scatter symbol as just 1 of these will trigger the Free Spins feature.
The Free Spins feature will reward you with 10 free spins – the layout will change as now you face a 5×4 reel set with a whopping 1,204 ways to win! Now, what makes this feature interesting is the T-1000 functionality within the feature – the T-1000 symbol transforms when forming part of a winning spin to change into any other character symbol to give you best possible winning combination.
I think Terminator 2 will be an instant classic – in terms of the game, its medium variance meaning you can have big wins but they won’t be all that often (a nice balance). You can win just over 200 times your stake in the base game but I’ve rarely won over 50 times my stake. In the T-800 Vision feature, you can win just over 125 times your stake and I’ve managed to win just over 90 times my stake a few times now.
However, the real big wins will come in the Free Spins feature as there’s over 2,950 times your stake on offer! The only real negative of the game was that you couldn’t retrigger more free spins – saying that, the potential for huge wins wouldn’t allow it! I love Terminator 2 and I will be playing it just as much as I play other Microgaming slots like Immortal Romance.
