Ariana Slot Review

Ariana is a Microgaming-powered video slot with 5 reels and 25 paylines. You can explore a hidden world in this aquatic adventure where the mermaid princess, Ariana, rules. Set in her underwater kingdom, you will see starfish scatters to majestic sea dragons and a lively Coral reef. You can play from as little as 25p to as much as £125 a spin.

Ariana has 2 main features. In the base game, look out for a full symbol stack on the first reel which will expanding all matching high symbols on the other reels. The matching symbols will only expand though when part of a winning combination.

Now, Ariana gets interesting in the Free Spins feature which is triggered when you get 3 or more Starfish scatter symbols anywhere on the reels – this will reward you with 15 free spins which can be retriggered if you get 3 scatters during the feature itself. The feature benefits from stacked and expanding wilds to potentially give you huge wins.

When a full symbol stack on the first reel appears, it will expand all other matching high symbols and wilds on the reels. Matching symbols only expand when part of a winning combination. This means that wilds are expanding when they appear which can give you huge wins.

Ariana is a medium variance slot with wins coming fairly frequently. The maximum win in the game (per spin) is 240 times your stake which can be achieved in the Free Spins feature. I’ve won just shy of 510 times my stake once in the feature which was great. It reminds me graphically of Playtech’s Great Blue and Novomatic’s Lord of the Ocean but is lower variance than them both. Saying that, Ariana is well balanced and I think Microgaming have created a slot game that will prove popular.
