9 Pots of Gold Theme/Symbols
The 9 Pots of Gold slot has an obvious Irish luck theme as has been released to mark to St Patrick’s Day celebrations. With green being the dominant colour, you’ll see plenty of 4-leaf clovers in the background. On the reels you’ll see Bars, 4-leaf clovers, leprechaun hats, gold harps, single 7s, double 7s and treble 7s. The latter pays 2.5, 16.25 or 37.5 x stake for 3, 4 or 5 in combination.
The mushroom is the wild symbol which substitutes for all symbols bar the free spins and pot symbols – 3, 4 or 5 on a payline will reward you with 6.25, 25 or 125 times your stake respectively.
Pot Pays feature
9 Pots of Gold comes with a Pot Pays feature – it’s triggered when 3 or more pot symbols appear anywhere on the reels. The more pots that land, the bigger your prize:
- 3 pots = 1 x stake
- 4 pots = 5 x stake
- 5 pots = 15 x stake
- 6 pots = 40 x stake
- 7 pots = 100 x stake
- 8 pots = 500 x stake
- 9 pots = 2,000 x stake
Free Spins feature
Then there’s the Free Spins feature – this is activated when the free spins symbol appears on reels 2, 3 and 4. As well as a 1x stake prize, you spin the Free Spin Wheel where you could be rewarded with 1 of the following:
- 10 free spins with a 2x multiplier
- 12 free spins with a 2x multiplier
- 15 free spins with a 2x multiplier
- 20 free spins with a 2x multiplier
- 25 free spins with a 3x multiplier
- 30 free spins with a 3x multiplier
During the feature, you can win additional free spins meaning you can play with up to 60 free spins, with a trebling multiplier. In fact, you can retrigger the Free Spins feature countless times. You will also see pots appear which could result in the Pot Pays feature and 2,000 x stake wins.
9 Pots of Gold thoughts
The 9 Pots of Gold slot is a good choice if you like the Irish luck theme. It’s quite basic in terms of appearance but it has its charms – it’s also a popular land-based game. However, it’s a clone of Microgaming’s 9 Masks of Fire which means it isn’t original.
That said, the Pot Pays feature can give you 2,000 x stake wins each time – the most important symbol is the wild as a screen full of mushrooms will result in a 2,500 x stake win. If you do this in the Free Spins feature, you could win 7,500 x stake on each free spin (with the 3x multiplier).
With an RTP of 96.24%, 9 Pots of Gold has the potential to dish out big wins from the 2 bonus features. However, I would rather try my luck with the Rainbow Ryan slot (by Yggdrasil Gaming) which looks better and has more in the way of bonus features.
