108 Heroes is a Microgaming slot with 5 reels and 15 paylines. Playable from £1 to £75 a spin across desktop devices (i.e. laptop/PC) only, it has a Chinese/Martial Arts theme and is based on the famous tale of the 108 Heroes. It’s a high energy game full of action pack martial art imagery and intense animations that bring the tale back to life.
You can boldly step into the legend of the 108 Heroes of China’s Liang Mount where you stand up against corrupt power. Symbols on the reels include characters Ling Chong, Wu Yong, Lu Zhi Shen, Sun Erniang and Li Kui as well as A, K, Q and treasure chests.
When it comes to bonus features, there are 2 – you have the King’s Treasure Bonus feature which is played when 3 or more Bonus Chest symbols on a payline appear. You will come across 12 chests where you will pick 3, 4 or 5 (depending on how many bonus chest symbols you got to trigger the feature). Every pick will give you a cash prize.
The main attraction is the Free Spins feature which is played when 3 or more Liang Mountain scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. This will reward you with 10 free spins – all wins are subject to a 3x multiplier and trebled. Look out for 3 more Liang Mountain symbols as this will give you a further 10 free spins (taking your total to 20). You can also trigger the King’s Treasure Bonus feature if you find 3 or more treasure chest symbols.
108 Heroes is visually superb as it’s colourful, bold and high energy – on the variance scale, it’s on the low side. Saying that, wins of up to 533 times your stake are available in the base game and wins of up to 1,600 times your stake are available in the Free Spins feature.
108 Heroes is definitely not the best slot Microgaming has produced by any stretch of the imagination – I much prefer Pretty Kitty which is a high variance game released at the same time (and also available to play on mobile/tablet devices). If you like the theme, you can’t go wrong with WMS Gaming’s Bruce Lee Dragon’s Tale.
