The design in Lightning Leopard is rather basic. With a snow-capped canyon in the background, you’ll see A, K, Q and J symbols spinning around the reels alongside snowflakes and huskies, mountain goats and brown bears. The best of the standard symbols is the Native American woman. This pays 7.5 times your stake if you land 5 on a payline.
The snow leopard is the game’s wild. This can land on all 5 reels and substitute for all other symbols bar the lightning bolt scatter. Land 5 wilds on a payline and you’ll pocket a reward of 15 times your stake. There’s 1 main bonus feature on offer in Lightning Leopard and 2 other ones.
Lightning Respin feature – this feature is triggered by landing 6 or more of the lightning bolt scatter on the same spin. You’ll then receive 3 respins with the lightning bolts from the triggering spin locking in place. If any subsequent lightning bolts land they too are held and the respins reset to 3. Once the respins are complete, all the lightning bolts flip over to reveal a cash prize. These are added together for the overall payout.
Fill the reels with 15 lightning bolts and you’ll receive get the Flippin’ Retrigger feature – all the lightning bolts flip again and another set of payouts is made.
You’ll also have the chance to land the Lightning Jackpot feature. This can trigger at random at the conclusion of the Lightning Respins or Flippin Retrigger features. There are 4 potential jackpot prizes. The one you’ll be hoping to hit is the Grand Jackpot which offers payouts of between £2,500 and £62,500 depending on the stakes you’re playing at. If playing at minimum stakes (40p a spin), you’ll win £2,500 which is a whopping 6,250 times your stake.
There’s nothing very flashy about Lightning Leopard. The visuals look pretty dated and the generic soundtrack hardly conjures up the wild theme. The range of extras is rather limited too. The Lightning Respin feature offer some decent potential but other than that there’s very little to report here.
We were a little underwhelmed by Lightning Leopard. It doesn’t wow either visually or in terms of gameplay. We won’t be rushing back to this winter wilderness. I would rather play Jackaroo Jack (from Lightning Box Games) as you can win a massive 768,000 times your stake!
