Bonus Features in Hot Shots 2

This Hot Shots 2 slot sequel comes with a solid range of extras. They include spreading wilds, free spins where the spreading wilds increase multipliers as well as the Ultra Bet mode.

Spreading Wilds feature

The red and white football wild is a special symbol. Whenever they hit, they expand 1 position vertically and horizontally to form a cross shape. A payout calculation is made with the expanded wild in position. Known as the Spreading Wilds feature, the wilds can get even more rewarding in the Free Spins feature.

Free Spins feature

Land 3, 4 or 5 of the Hot Shots 2 logo symbol anywhere on the reels to trigger the Free Spins feature. You’ll then receive 10, 15 or 20 free spins. You can also retrigger the feature to give you up to 40 free spins.

The red and white football wilds are replaced by gold wilds during the feature. Just like in the base game, they can appear on reels 3, 4 and 5 only. They also expand vertically and horizontally whenever they hit. Each time a gold wild lands during the free spins, it increases a multiplier by 1x.

With maximum wins of 2,430 x stake per spin, the increasing multiplier can lead to 12,150 x stake wins on every free spin (capped).

Ultra Bet Mode feature

The Ultra Bet Mode feature is a set of 50 spins that will set you back 50 x your total stake. The action plays out as normal. The difference is that each time a symbol includes a star, it’s added to a meter. The more stars you collect during the 50 spins the better.

At the end of the round you’ll pocket the standard wins plus a bonus prize from the collected stars. This ranges from 5x your total stake if you collect 5 stars during the feature but can get as high as 1,000 x your stake if you manage to amass 15 stars.

You can trigger the Free Spins feature if Ultra Bet Mode is active. These play out once the 50 Ultra Bet spins have run their course. Unfortunately, the Ultra Bet Mode feature isn’t available to UK players due to regulations from the UK Gambling Commission.

Hot Shots 2 Slot RTP, Details & Wager Limits

The action in Hot Shots 2 takes place on a 5 reel, 243 ways to win machine where winning combinations are formed by landing 3 or more matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from reel 1. Small stakes players can play from 25p per spin. If you’ve much deeper pockets, you can take it up to £25 per spin. Click on the coin symbol to the right of the reels and adjust accordingly.

Click on the linked arrows above the spin button for autoplay. It’s possible to set between 5 and 1,000 auto spins, complete with win and loss limits. You can also play in turbo mode. Click on the lightning bolt button in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen to bring this into play.

The RTP for Hot Shots 2 is 96%. In Ultra Bet mode, the standard play is 91.5% but you also have to factor in 5% for the stars which takes it up to 96.5%.

The max payout is 2,430 x your stake per spin. You can win this if you fill the reels with the high value German dog symbol. Add in the multipliers in the feature for payouts of up to 12,150 x stake per free spin.

Hot Shots 2 Theme – Audio and Design Features – unlikely woodland football slot

If you’ve played the original Hot Shots slot, you’ll find plenty that’s familiar in this sequel. The setting is a clearing in a forest where cartoon animals are hosting a football tournament.

The cartoon symbols are nicely drawn and give the slot a light-hearted feel. You’ll hear roars from the crowd alongside the jaunty, and rather unftoobally backing track. It works rather well.

Joining the A to 9 royals are 5 higher paying animals in international colours. There’s a Portuguese fox with a glass of port, a British bulldog holding a cuppa, a Spanish bull with a fan and a French hen with onions. The German dog with the stein of lager is the most rewarding symbol. This pays 1, 3 or 10 x your total stake if you land 3, 4 or 5 in combination.

The red and white football is the game’s wild. This can land on reels 3, 4 and 5 only. As usual, it replaces all the standard symbols in winning combinations.

The Hot Shots 2 mobile version works fine. The crisp cartoon visuals and simple gameplay are well suited if you’re playing on a handheld device with a smaller screen.

Hot Shot 2 Review Summary – big win potential

Hot Shots 2 has taken many of the elements of the original slot, certainly in design terms and made a few tweaks to the gameplay. The expanding wilds are a decent innovation, as is the Ultra Bet mode thanks to the improved RTP that comes with it. Add the free spins and multipliers into the mix and it’s a good overall package.

The design might be a bit too cute for some tastes. This football/animal hybrid is a solid sequel though. With wins of 2,430 x stake per spin/free spin, the multiplier could lead to huge wins. iSoftBet have capped it at 12,150 x stake per free spin though.

As far as football themed slots go, Hot Shots 2 is unconventional looks wise but more than hits the back of the net in terms of bonus features and max win potential. If you want more footie action, Bicicleta by Yggdrasil Gaming is still the best one out there in my opinion.
