The Gates of Glory slot looks fantastic. It’s one of the best-looking slots I’ve seen this year, which is a high praise. It’s an excellent approach from iSoftBet, ensuring it keeps players engaged. All symbols have an almost photo-realistic design, which looks fantastic on the reels. The sunset over a field of lava in the background is colourful but has a dramatic feel to it, which matches the gritty theme.
The visuals are great, but the music is another highlight. I enjoyed the soundtrack, which really helped create an epic experience. The sounds truly make this title fully immersive. I would go that far to say that it has some of the best soundscapes I’ve heard in new online slots.
Many slots play with themes from Norse mythology, but not all of them get it right. Gates of Glory does it properly, incorporating lush gems as low-paying symbols and Viking weapons and armour as high-paying symbols. However, the true stars of the paytable are a portrait of Odin, an all-seeing eye that poses as the game’s wild, and the scatter in the form of a mysterious runic gate that possibly leads to Valhalla.

Gates of Glory Mobile Slot
I like the approach iSoftBet has taken with the Gates of Glory mobile slot. It’s almost exactly the same as the desktop version, making for a simple transition between different iterations of the game.
The spin button is easy to find, but the stake selection controls remain hidden in the menu. I didn’t notice any loss of quality in the visuals in the mobile version, and the sounds stayed superb throughout. It’s an excellent mobile casino option overall.

Gates of Glory uses cascading reels whenever a win lands. As is always the case with this feature, it removes the winning symbols and allows new ones to fall in. This may lead to new wins, which continues the feature until no new winning combinations land.
Eye of Odin
The Eye of Odin symbol can land on any spin, and it contains a multiplier with possible values of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 25x, and 50x the bet. When all the cascades finish, it applies the multiplier to the win. If there are multiple Eyes of Odin on the screen together with a winning combo, the multipliers are added together to increase the payout.
Free Spins
If you land at least 4 scatters, the free spins round starts. 4, 5, or 6 scatters award 8, 10, or 12 spins, respectively. However, there is a meter on the left of the screen that impacts the scatters. It’s possible for up to 3 lights to show on the meter randomly, with each light being worth a scatter. As a result, if 3 lights are showing, you only need a single scatter to begin the free spins round.
The Eye of Odin is active during the bonus round, but if it lands on a round without a win, it removes the lowest value symbol from all remaining spins. If you land 3 or 4 scatters during the free spins, you gain an extra 2 or 4 spins, with the lights on the meter helping during the round.

Gates of Glory Verdict: Lots of Potential but Needs More Details
The moment the free spins round begins, Gates of Glory really comes to life. Whether it’s the Eye of Odin appearing to boost wins or remove low-value symbols or the cascading reels creating multiple payouts, there’s plenty going on. Landing the bonus round makes every spin during the base game worth it.
However, as I’ve mentioned before, the info on the maximum payout still isn’t available. For that reason, I can’t say for sure if this is a top-class slot. As I only managed to grab around 200x my stake as a payout, I can’t give it more than a 3.5/5. Other than that, this is a solid slot with the potential to be great.
