As you’d expect from a slot called Paint, the design here is bright and fresh – the yellow, orange, pink, blue and green reels are set against a brick wall and flanked by aerosol cans. Rather than spinning, symbols pop onto the reels in the form of bubbles.
You’ll see 10, J, Q, K and A symbols alongside a paintbrush and palette and 3 different bottles of paint. The blue and pink bottle with the lightning bolt is the most rewarding, offering payouts of 5, 10 or 100 times your stake if you land 3, 4 or 5 on a payline. The swirl of colour is the wild – it replaces all other symbols apart from the bonus and paint splash.
You’ll notice a meter to the right of the reels – every time you land a golden paint splash symbol on the middle reel, it’s added to the meter. Collect 5 and you’ll trigger the Paint Free Spins feature and with it, 5 free spins.
Extra paint splash symbols are added to the reels during the free spins – the yellow on reel 1 adds 1x to the current multiplier when it lands with the red splash on reel 2 boosting the multiplier by 2x. Paint isn’t exactly a thing of beauty – the bonus features are a little unusual and all the better for it. The free spins aren’t the easiest to trigger but the multipliers can make it worth your while. Likewise, the picks round. Again, the 2x or 3x multiplier can have a big impact.
You’d be hard pressed to call Paint a masterpiece. The features are innovative enough though which makes this art-themed slot worth a quick look.
