The rainforest gets a colourful makeover in Neon Jungle, a 5 reel, 20 payline slot from Iron Dog Studio. Available on desktop, tablet and mobile devices, it comes with a keno-style picks round, free spins and multipliers which can boost payouts by 4x. Play from between 20p and £40 per spin.
With the skyscrapers of Rio in the background, the reels are set within a stylised version of the Amazonian jungle. As you’d expect given the title, neon dominates the imagery. You’ll see lower value A to J symbols alongside flowers, butterflies, frogs and parrots.
Best of the standard symbols is the lion which awards 50, 400 or 2,000 coins if you land 3, 4 or 5 in combination. There’s also a wild, the monkey, which substitutes for everything bar the scatter, free spins and bonus symbols.
You’ll notice a halo like circle around the back of these special symbols – when this faint glow turns into bold neon behind 1 of these symbols, it becomes active and triggers whatever extra it offers:
- 4x multiplier – does exactly what it says on the tin, quadrupling the payout.
- Scatter – a single neon scatter awards a 250-coin payout.
- Free Spins feature – a neon glow around a single free spins symbol will get you 6 free spins.
Light the pink flamingo and you’ll trigger the keno-style Bonus Game feature – choose 10 numbers from the board. A keno draw then follows. The more numbers that match, the bigger the prizes on offer. They start at 50 coins if you don’t match anything but can reach 20,000 coins if you land a perfect 10!
Neon Jungle is a nicely designed slot. The visuals are crisply done and there’s a drum-heavy backing track playing in the background. The features aren’t bad either with the keno-style pick game offering something fresh.
We didn’t find this the most exciting slot. The unusual setting, classy design and range of features make it a playable one though and certainly worth a look if you fancy something a little different from the norm. It does, however, offer payouts of up to 2,955 times your stake on each spin. If you like jungles, Playtech’s Jungle Giants is recommended.
