Smash the Pig is an IGT-powered slot with 5 reels and 20 paylines. Playable on desktop, mobile and tablet devices from 20p to £200 per spin, this porky themed game offers you wins both ways and 2 bonus features where you pick pigs to win cash prizes.

Visually, Smash the Pig has cartoon style graphics and is set on a lush green hill with clear blue skies as it’s backdrop. Symbols on the reels include regular playing cards (A, K, Q and J) as well as a hammer, bronze coin with a piggyfied Abraham Lincoln on it, a wad of cash and the Smash the Pig logo.

The latter is the most lucrative giving you 7.5, 50 or 500 times your total stake for 3, 4 or 5 across a payline. Remember that wins can be formed from left to right and right to left starting from the left-most (reel 1) or right-most (reel 5) reels.

As for bonus features, Smash the Pig offers you 2 of them – first up is the Pick a Pig Bonus feature which is pretty self-explanatory. It can be played when you get 3 more piggy bank scatters anywhere in view. You then need to pick 1 of the pigs to reveal a cash prize between 1 and 20 times your stake, a cash prize between 1 and 15 times your stake plus another chance to pick, all cash prizes combined or entry into the Pig Smashing Bonus feature.

The Pig Smashing Bonus feature can also be accessed by getting 3 or more bonus symbols anywhere on the reels – each symbol you get adds some luck to the Luck Meter (located to the right-hand side of the reels). You need to pick 1 of the 8 pigs to reveal cash prizes up to 20 times your stake.

When a pig is smashed, the Luck Meter empties slightly so you get to keep on picking until your luck eventually runs out. If you manage to smash 5 pigs and there’s luck in the meter, the 3 remaining pigs will run off with 8 new pigs entering – the luck increases too to give you more chances to win cash prizes.

Smash the Pig looks good but is quite a simple slot in reality – it’s a pity there’s no free spins feature really. Variance wise, it’s in the middle with the bigger wins coming in the Pig Smashing Bonus feature. If you like pigs, I recommend you try the high variance Piggy Riches by Net Entertainment which is a much better game.
