Ocean Magic is a 5 reel, 50 payline slot that is powered by industry giant IGT. Available to play on all devices, you can spin away from 50p to £1,500 per spin. The game takes you beneath the waves in search for hidden treasure – it comes with

Visually, Ocean Magic has a tranquil setting as you are taken underwater – symbols on the reels include 3 different coloured starfish, seahorses, turtles, fish, jellyfish and whales. You also have the Ocean Magic logo symbol which is also the most rewarding giving you 6 times your stake for 5 on a payline. There’s also a wild bubble symbol which substitutes for al symbols except the treasure chest scatter.

Ocean Magic comes with a Wild Bubble feature – 1 or more Wild Bubbles can appear, randomly, below each reel and move up 1 position during a spin. When the reels stop, the Wild Bubble can land on a symbol and transform it into a wild symbol. If this Wild Bubble lands on the Ocean Magic logo symbol, all surrounding positions also become wild. Wild Bubbles remain on the reels for up to 4 consecutive spins to help you getting wilds and wins.

There’s also a Bubble Boost feature which you can activate by clicking on the Bubble Boost button below the reels – this will double your stake (i.e. from 50p to £1 a spin at minimum stake). Basically, up to 7 extra Wild Bubbles can randomly appear and move to random positions on any of the 5 reels – this can lead to more wilds and bigger wins. Saying that, the value of the wild decreases.

Ocean Magic also benefits from a Free Spins Bonus feature which is played when you get 3 or more Treasure Chest scatter symbols anywhere on the reels – 3, 4 or 5 scatters will give you 5, 10 or 20 picks. You then pick bubbles to give you free spins or extra bubble picks. You can get up to 5 free spins which each pick in theory which can lead to 100 free spins – you can also retrigger the feature which can lead to 200 free spins altogether.

Now, this may seem like a lot of free spins but it’s a low to medium variance offering – the Bubble Boost feature doubles your stake and increases your chances of wilds and expanding wilds but is it really worth it? The maximum win with the Bubble Boost feature on is 125 times your stake on each spin whilst it goes up to 300 times your stake with the Bubble Boost feature off!

All in all, I found Ocean Magic to be a bizarre slot – I like the Bubble Boost feature concept but it actually offers smaller winning potential. It does however offer more wins but of a smaller nature. I prefer more volatile slots – if you like the ocean theme, Play ‘N Go’s Mermaid’s Diamond or IGT’s Pacific Paradise are better options.
