King of Atlantis is a 5 reel, 40 payline slot which is powered by IGT. Playable from 40p per spin, this game is playable on all devices including iOS (iPad and iPhone), Android (i.e. Samsung devices), laptops and PCs. It comes with a host of extras and has a Greek mythology theme.

The game is based on Poseidon which was 1 of the 12 Olympian deities of the pantheon in Greek mythology. Commonly known as the God of the Sea (or Lord of the Ocean according to Novomatic), Atlantis is his chosen domain. He is depicted beautifully as an older man with a white beard, golden crown and trident.

Visually, King of Atlantis has cartoon style graphics and animations and is set underwater in Atlantis. Symbols on the reels include harps, rings, crowns, dolphins and mermaids amongst other ancient artefacts. The red-haired mermaid is the most valuable symbol giving you 250 coins for a 5 of a kind winning combination.

The game benefits from Gigantic Wild symbols – Poseidon is the wild symbol and substitutes for all symbols bar the bonus scatter. The wilds appear 2 reels wide and appear only on reels 2 and 4. When it appears, it replace symbols on adjacent reels to the right (i.e. reels 3 and 5).

You will notice that King of Atlantis gives you the option of choosing how many wilds appear on the reels – you have 20, 40 or 60 wilds. This can be chosen below the reels and affects your stake levels:

  • 20 wilds – play from 40p to £800 per spin
  • 40 wilds – play from 65p to £1,300 per spin
  • 60 wilds – play from 90p to £1,800 per spin

Choosing to play with 60 wilds will cost you more than with 20 or 40 wilds but it gives you the opportunity to land more Gigantic Wilds in the base game.

There is also a Poseidon Free Spins Bonus feature which is played when you get the Bonus scatter on reel 1 and a Gigantic Wild on either reel 2 or 4 simultaneously on the same spin. You will then be rewarded with 8 free spins.

The reel positions with wild symbols that help triggered the feature will remain fixed in place for every single free spin – this can be highly lucrative if you manage to get a Gigantic Wild on both reels 2 and 4 which then replicated to reels 3 and 5 giving you 4 fully wild reels! The only downside is that you cannot retrigger more free spins.

King of Atlantis may be quite simple but it’s a highly volatile offering – I would recommend playing with 60 wilds if you can afford it but the rewards will definitely be worth it if you manage to trigger the Poseidon Free Spins Bonus feature with 2 or 4 fully wild reels. Overall, a superb slot from IGT and 1 of their best!
