Dragon’s Temple is an IGT-powered slot with 5 reels and 50 paylines. Playable on desktop, mobile and tablet devices from just 50p per spin, this Chinese themed game offers you expanding wilds as well as a free spins feature with wild reels. Hopefully the dragons will deliver you luck and fortune.
With a typical Chinese feel, there’s a red forest in the backdrop which moves to the wind and looks very realistic. On the reels, you have plenty of lucky symbols such as koi carp, lanterns and temples. The Dragon’s Temple symbol is the highest value symbol with 1,000 times your line stake (or 20 times your stake) when you get 5 on a payline.
You also have 5 dancing dragons in different colours (there’s a different dragon for each reel) which are wild – they substitute for all symbols except the scatter and reward you with 20 times your bet for 5 on a payline. They are also the key to triggering the Expanding Full-Reel Wild feature. When a wild is part of a winning combination, it expands to fill the entire reel – if you get 3 or more on 1 spin, prepare yourself for huge wins.
Then you have the Free Spins Bonus feature which is triggered when you get the Yin Yang scatter symbol on reels 2, 3 and 4. You then have a choice of 3 free spins options – they are as follows:
- 15 free spins with reel 3 being wild on every single free spin
- 10 free spins with reels 2 and 4 wild on every single free spin
- 5 free spins with reels 1, 3 and 5 wild on every single free spin
5 free spins may not sound like a lot but 3 fully wild reels is too tempting to turn down in my opinion – I consider Dragon’s Temple to be a high variance game so don’t expect to win much very often. However, if you get a wild on reels 2 and 4 on a couple of free spins with the 3 wild reels, prepare yourself for huge wins.
Aesthetically, Dragon’s Temple may not be the best around but the playability is excellent with expanding wilds in the base game and wild reels in the feature. If you like the Chinese theme, there’s plenty of options with Yggdrasil Gaming’s Legend of the White Snake Lady and Playtech’s Jade Emperor recommended.
