The Cool Catch slot is played on a 5 reel, 4 row layout with 20 fixed paylines. To create a win, you simply need to land 3 or more matching symbols on consecutive reels on any of those 20 paylines, starting from reel 1.

You can play Cool Catch for as little as 20p to £8 per spin. This is quite a limited stakes range, though it makes the slot perfect for casual players. High rollers, however, may want to check out other IGT slots.

To change your stakes, use the + and – buttons below the reels or click the total bet amount to bring up a menu of preset bet sizes. Theme – dive for technicolour fish and big wins

Cool Catch is set on the ocean floor with a sort of Hawaiian soundtrack. In the background you’ll see seaweed and, as you play, various fish swim by. Transparent reels help capture this underwater vibe but, although the scene is colourful, we found it underwhelming. The graphics aren’t as sharp as many other IGT slots and it feels a bit bland overall.

On the reels, symbols include 10 to Ace royals and 3 different coloured fish. The blue fish is the slot’s highest paying symbol, rewarding you with up to 80 x your bet for a 5-of-a-kind combination.

Cool Catch comes complete with a pufferfish wild symbol that substitutes for all other regular symbols, and a free spins scatter. There’s also treasure chests, coins, and wheels to collect but we’ll talk more about these later.

Cash Link Deluxe Feature

In the base game, treasure chests can appear on reel 5 and gold coins can appear on reels 1-4. If a treasure chest symbol and at least 1 gold coin symbol land at the same time you trigger the Cash Link Deluxe feature.

All gold coin symbols carry cash prizes, and the Cash Link Deluxe feature allows you to collect all of the prizes in view. Gold coins can also award Minor, Mega, Major, or Grand jackpot prizes. These are fixed jackpots worth:

Cash Link Bonus Wheel Feature

The Cash Link Bonus Wheel feature is, as just explained, triggered by landing a wheel symbol on reel 1 and a treasure chest symbol on reel 5. Before the Bonus Wheel feature begins, you will collect the cash prizes on other gold coin scatters. Then, you’re transported to a new screen with a bonus wheel.

The Bonus Wheel has 22 segments, with cash prizes and multipliers on offer. If the pointer lands on a 5 x, 10 x, or 20 x segment, the multiplier is added to the value of your Cash Link Deluxe prizes. Depending on the size of your bet in the base game, you may see more than one pointer on the wheel. If this happens, the prizes are simply added to your total, or the values of multipliers are added together.

There is also a Cool Catch bonus segment on the wheel. This gives you a jackpot prize worth 1,000 x your bet.

Free Spins Feature

Land 3 bonus scatters on reels 1, 3 and 5 and you receive 10 free spins to begin with. You can also retrigger the round by landing 3 more scatters, giving you an extra 10 free spins. You can do this a maximum of 20 times, meaning there’s a generous 200 free spins up for grabs.

The free spins round plays out the same as the base game. However, whilst you can trigger the Cash Link Deluxe feature, during free spins you cannot trigger the bonus wheel.

Cool Catch Summary – if we caught this slot, we’d throw it back in the water

s we mentioned earlier, Cool Catch is a little uninspired. The graphics aren’t as polished as we’d expect and the theme is dull. When so many of the best slots now come with unique and bonkers themes, we’d have liked IGT to push the boat out a bit, if you’ll pardon the pun.

The gameplay is also unoriginal. Cool Catch is more or less a clone of Wheel of Fortune: Ruby Riches. Whilst the maths model has changed a little, the features are identical and we weren’t really impressed by them the first time around.

Unless you love fish, we can’t see why you’d give the Cool Catch slot a spin over IGT’s other Cash Link Deluxe titles. We also can’t see why you’d choose this slot over the numerous other fishing slots either. Overall, we’re not excited at all by this game and we’d skip it if we were you.
