Apollo Rising Slot Review
Apollo Rising is an IGT-powered video slot which is 8 rows high and has 100 paylines. Available to play on mobile and tablet devices too, you can lift off to the stars and beyond with celestial wins. Symbols stand 2 and 3 symbols high and it features out of the world wild symbols.
Playable from £1 to £1,000 a spin, it has a riveting space theme which has a superb entrancing soundtrack, tall space explorer symbols and vibrant win animations. It’s fast paced with big winning potential due to the 100 paylines. Furthermore, the game is the first that IGT has produced that offers a full game experience within the base game.
The main attraction is the Rising Respins feature where wins are skyrocketed into unexplored galaxies. Wild symbols blast off and expand to fill the whole reel (represented by a flame trail) and therefore triggering a free re-spin. This wild reel locks in place for 1 re-spin. You can get more wild reels and activate extra re-spins if you get more wilds (in the re-spin).
It may a coincidence but Net Entertainment released Stickers on same day (21st of May 2015) – this game also has sticky wilds with respins. However, I prefer Apollo Rising as graphically I prefer the theme, the animations are better and the maximum possible win is bigger.
Apollo Rising is a medium variance slot with the maximum possible win 145 times your stake – it does pay out quite frequently though but you will need a few re-spins to achieve the bigger wins. It’s not IGT’s best slot by a long shot but a welcome addition to the portfolio. For something a little more volatile, try Pharaoh’s Fortune (also by IGT). If you like space-themed games, Starburst by NetEnt is a superb choice.
