He can carry the world on his shoulders but can Atlas help you hold on to a bumper amount of coins? That’s the goal in The Mighty Atlas, a Greek mythology themed slot from High5 Games. It’s a 5 reel, 40 payline title that comes with stacked symbols, a free spins bonus feature and a symbol capture feature than can deliver some massive payouts. Play from between 40p and £400 per spin.

The mythology theme plays out strongly in The Mighty Atlas – the reels include a bearded Greek god, a green clad Greek goddess, a woman in chains and of course Atlas himself. They’re joined by playing card symbols from ace down to 10. There’s also a wild symbol that substitutes for all other symbols apart from the bonus.

You’ll notice that each image can appear as a stacked symbol and fill up entire reels. It’s possible to hit multiple stacked reels which can of course provide some very healthy wins.

There is also a bonus symbol which appears on reels 2, 3 and 4. When the bonus symbol appears as a stacked symbol on all 3 of the middle reels, you will activate the Free Games Bonus feature and be awarded an initial 7 free spins. The free games can also be re-triggered up to 98 times if the bonus symbols fall nicely.

The super stacked symbols also appear in the feature which can prove lucrative. Joining them is the Capture feature. Find the Greek God, Greek Goddess or chained lady on the middle position on reel 3 and you’ll ‘capture’ that character and boost your payouts on the special capture meter positioned above the reels.

Meter values range from between 2x and 1,000x the triggering bet. Best of all is if you capture Atlas. Manage that and all three of the meters above the reels will receive a payout.

The Mighty Atlas is something of a veteran in online slot terms. The graphics aren’t quite as sharp as present day releases but the imagery is nice and sharp and perfectly clear against the pale grey backdrop. The backing track is a generic High5 Games offering which is something of a disappointment.

The features aren’t overflowing either but if you manage to get the Super Stacks flowing in the free spins it’s still possible to bag an impressive haul of gold coins. The Mighty Atlas is a low variance game which is almost identical in gameplay to Golden Knight. Saying that, I would much rather play the volatile Sirens (also by High5 Games).
