Rise of Ymir is an excellent new addition to the world of Norse-mythology-inspired slots. It takes a dramatic theme, introduces a lesser-known character, and adds cool gameplay elements and a nice max win as the cherry on top.

First and foremost, I liked Rise of Ymir because of its amazing gameplay. As the saying goes, you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, and I played this slot for a while before thinking about how it looks. There’s a lot going on here, but it’s just lots of fun, even with high volatility.

Adding the 15,000x your stake top payout means there’s something big to aim for, even if it is challenging to get close to that ultimate prize. The visuals are also good, even though the dramatic setting might not be for everyone. For me, the only letdowns are RTP ranges and just 14 paylines, so I still give this slot game a high 4.7/5.
