The setup in Orb of Destiny is a little unusual. The action plays out on a 6-reel, 4 row machine. That often means 4,096 ways to win. In Orb of Destiny, it’s 14 standard paylines. Theme: play your cards right with Lady Fortune

I really liked the design in Orb of Destiny. The sound and visuals here are terrifically well done. The setting is a wooden table that’s littered with objects from the fortune teller’s craft including dice, cards and candles.

Those objects dominate the reels too. There are 5 brightly coloured dice symbols as well as five higher-paying tarot cards. The symbols are bright and bold and stand out nicely against the dark backdrop.

Joining the standard symbols is Lady Fortune. She is wild and substitutes for all the standard symbols. I’ll have more on her shortly. There’s also an orb as well as a free spins scatter symbol.

The understated soundtrack has a rather haunting quality which I rather liked. It’s a good fit for the theme. If it’s not to your taste, there are options to play with just music, just sound effects, both or neither.

Lady Fortune Wilds

Lady Fortune is a wild symbol that fills entire reels. These symbols can come with multipliers at the bottom of them too. Land a winning combination that includes a Lady Fortune wild with a multiplier and the payout is boosted by the amount shown by the bottom multiplier.

After the payout calculation has been made, the bottom multiplier drops off the wild. If there’s still a multiplier on view, the stacked wild remains in place and a re-spin follows. The wild locks in position until all the multipliers have dropped off.

It’s possible to start a spin with 3 multipliers on the Lady Fortune Wild. Look out for the orb symbol. When this lands, it adds another 1, 2 or 3 multipliers to the stacked wild. You can land up to 5 multipliers in total which means the wild locks in place for 5 re-spins.

You can land more than one wild in the same winning combination. When that happens, the multipliers are added together for an even bigger payout boost.

Lady Luck Free Spins feature

I’m not usually a huge fan of slots with this occult theme but Orb of Destiny is a real charmer. Visually it’s excellent. You won’t find many slots with better graphics than this. Likewise, the rather gentle soundtrack. It all comes together very nicely.

There’s plenty of action here thanks to Lady Fortune and her wild reels. These can really come into their own during the bonus rounds where the multipliers deliver plenty of re-spins. I landed the Lady Luck Free Spins fairly regularly, but the Future Fortunes Free Spins were much harder to come by. They were worth waiting for though, thanks to the multipliers.

I found the best opportunities for a big win came via the free spins. You need to land wilds on multiple reels on the same spin and hope a pair of big multipliers combine.

The theme won’t be for everyone, but I enjoyed my time with Lady Fortune and her mysterious Orb of Destiny.
