VS Symbol

This special symbol expands into Duel Reels when it’s activated. In the base game, these only expand into Duel Reels if the reel would form part of a winning combination when expanded. In the bonus features, they expand whenever they land with multiplier values changing.

Each Duel Reel has 2 wild multipliers, each one representing a gladiator. Those gladiators will then fight each other and the one that survives will get its multiplier added to the entire reel. You see the battle on the reels, but it’s so quick that it’s not easy to follow what’s happening before the multiplier is displayed.

Here are the possible multiplier values you’ll come across in both the base game and the bonus features:

Champions of the Arena feature

3 Arena symbols in view on 1 spin will trigger the Champions of the Arena bonus feature. You will start with 3 spins, and each time you get a VS symbol, the counter resets to 3. This will continue until you have 3 spins in a row without a win.

Reel Multipliers will appear above each reel, and your aim is to land as many VS symbols as possible so that they fight their way through the arena. When a Duel Reel expands, the winning Duel Multiplier will replace the current Reel Multiplier. You could lose a high multiplier this way when a new VS symbol lands. However, the current value will always be the best of the 2 multiplier values in a Duel on that reel.

Keep an eye out for the Multiplier Coin symbol too. You’ve got a Normal Coin and an Epic Coin. When a normal one lands, it will reveal a multiplier value up to 10x and multiplier the Reel Multiplier value with the value on the coin.

The same will apply if an Epic Coin lands on a reel. You’ll get a multiplier up to 10x but the difference here is that it will multiply all Reel Multiplier’s value with the value on the coin.

Unleash the Beast feature

The Unleash the Beast feature is triggered by landing 3 Beast symbols in the base game on the same spin. Much like the other bonus feature, you will start with 3 spins and landing a VS symbol will reset the spins back to 3.

You will have Reel Multipliers on reels 1, 2, 4 and 5 and they accumulate the value of Duel Multipliers from their corresponding reels for the duration of the bonus round.

It’s important to note that reel 3 is locked initially and will not spin with the others. The reel will unlock when a VS symbol has landed at least once on each of the reels in play. It also has a special Beast Duel with a multiplier that multiplies the other reels’ Duel Multipliers before they are added to the Reel Multipliers. It may sound a little complicated but it’s really simple to understand when you see it in action.
