The Double Rainbow slot is played on a 7×6 grid and uses the Cluster Pays mechanic. All you need to do to land a winner is match 5 or more connecting symbols anywhere on the grid. The way the mechanic works is that winning symbols are removed and new ones drop in. This continues until no more winners are formed.

Stakes range from as little as 20p and as high as £100 per spin, thus catering for all bankrolls. As is the case with all Hacksaw games, just use the arrows to the left of the spin button to increase or decrease your total bet. The reels are set in the sky among the clouds, with a unicorn to the left of the reels that looks a little like an old school My Little Pony figure. The design is very simple but the bright symbols and the glittering logo above the reels certainly help keep your eyes glued to the screen.

The soundtrack is rather calming and doesn’t really have any distinct theme to it. The sound effects are nice when winning clusters are formed, and the music goes up a notch once the bonus feature lands and extra spins are in play. Overall, it’s nice enough but it won’t win any awards.

One the reels, you’ve got many different coloured shapes – a red square, an orange circle, a yellow triangle, a green heart, a blue star, a pink moon and a purple flower. All symbols pay the same amount, which is different. Land 15+ of any matching symbol to enjoy a 50x payout.

Multiplier Clouds

When a cloud lands on one of the reels, you’ll see a multiplier value appear which is then added to the Reel’s Multiplier.

When you managed to activate all Rainbow Reels simultaneously, the Full Rainbow feature is triggered. When this happens, all Reel Multipliers are multiplied by 1 of the following values:

Double Rainbow Review Summary – Not one of Hacksaw’s best

The Double Rainbow slot game has a lot going on in terms of bonus features, the multipliers and extra spins that come with it. This part we like and there’s the potential to win big, especially being a slot that’s not super high in terms of volatility. But that’s where the enjoyment ends for me. I’m not a fan of the theme but that’s not to say many won’t like it. It is pretty niche though.

Overall, it’s a well-designed slot and the audio is quite nice, but it’s only going to appeal to a certain type of player in my opinion. There are better slots from Hacksaw Gaming, to be honest, that also come with bigger max win potential, so consider some of those if this doesn’t float your boat.
