Oddly, the Dark Summoning slot game has 5 reels, 6 rows and 24 fixed paylines. Landing 3, 4 or 5 identical symbols from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel, on any of the paylines will result in a winning combination. With the Wild symbol, 5 in combination will give you a winning outcome.

Theme: embrace the darkness

With a horror theme, the Dark Summoning slot, according to Hacksaw Gaming, sees you embrace the darkness and summon your inner courage as you head to the underworld. Dark and creepy, it follows a long list of darker-themed slots including Bloodthirst and Rotten.

With the game split in two, the graphics are superb as always. You have a dark priest (hooded skeleton character) on the left with a demon on the right. Both are quite intimidating. The soundtrack is eerie and quite understated which makes the game a little more intense.

On the reels, you’ll see A, K, Q, J and 10 royals, scissors, moths, crows, a pyramid with an eye in the middle and goat skulls. Super Cascade feature

When a winning combination lands, all winning symbols are removed from the grid. Known as the Super Cascade feature, new symbols fall in to replace the removed winning symbols. Wild Multipliers feature

With 2 wild symbols, Wilds substitute for all paying symbols. When a Wild symbol appears, it can contain a multiplier value between 2x and 100x (2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x or 100x).

With only the Blue Wild appearing in the base game, more than 1 Wild Multiplier part of a win will see their values added together before being applied to the win.

Finally, the Blue Wild also appears in the Rise to Salvation Bonus feature (with no multiplier) and the Red Wild appearing in the Trail by Hellfire Bonus feature.

Will of the Order feature

When the Order Scatter symbol lands, it will replace itself and between 2 and 10 symbols with Wild symbols. These can be wilds with or without multipliers. If multiple Order symbols land simultaneously, the Will of the Order feature is triggered once for each triggering symbol.

Unholy Summoning feature

When an Unholy Scatter symbol lands together with a winning combination, it’s collected in the top right-hand corner of the screen and saved for the Unholy Summoning feature. If you manage to see 3 Unholy symbols land simultaneously, they will be collected even if no wins are present.

Trial by Hellfire Bonus feature

When you collect 3 Unholy Scatters during a base game spin, you’ll trigger the Trial by Hellfire Bonus feature with 10 free spins. All winning positions during the feature are marked with Hellfire.

An Unholy symbol landing actives the Fires of Hell sequence. All Unholy symbols and Hellfire symbol positions are replaced with Wild symbols. These can appear with or without multipliers. The Fire of Hell sequence lasts until the next cascades but new wins will not create Hellfire positions.

Rise to Salvation Bonus feature

Collecting 3 Unholy Scatters in the base game and an Order Collect symbol is present when the 3^rd Unholy Scatter is collected, the Rise to Salvation Bonus feature will be activated. 10 free spins are awarded.

The symbol drop and cascade direction is reversed meaning that symbols move upwards instead of downwards. Look out for special Lost Soul symbols which are sticky on the reels until they ascend. Lost Souls move upwards together with other cascading symbols to fill empty spaces after a super cascade. The 2 Lost Soul symbols offer the following:

• Global Multiplier Lost Soul: when it reaches the top row and ascends, it adds a multiplier from 2x to 100x

With Hacksaw Gaming known for creating darker-themed games, the Dark Summoning slot follows on superbly. Graphically, it’s very dark with high-definition imagery that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The game’s 2 protagonists standing on either side of the reels really add to the experience in my opinion.

Offering cascades and wild multipliers up to 100x, the Will of the Order feature sees plenty of wilds (with multipliers possibly) added to the reels. With 2 free spins features, the Trail by Hellfire free spins see Hellfire positions marked which award wilds (with multipliers possibly) for the sequence of cascades.

I particularly like the Rise of Salvation free spins as cascades see symbols moving upwards.
