Golden Wilds Feature

As mentioned earlier, there are 2 types of wilds in Unusual Suspects. Both kinds can land on any reel, and the Golden Wilds spawn more wilds. They can create either another Golden Wild or extra regular wilds.

When a wild lands, they leave a frame around the position they landed in which carries a 1x multiplier. If another wild then lands in a framed position, the multiplier then increases up to 5x.

Detective Wilds Feature

If you land a Detective symbol on the reels, all framed positions are filled with wilds. Any multipliers the frames are carrying are also added to the win total, and a new payout is calculated.

In the base game, all sticky frames are removed from the reels after the Detective bonus ends. In the free spins feature, however, sticky frames remain in place until the round ends.

Free Spins Feature

If you land 3 or more scatter symbols on the reels, you will trigger the free spins feature. Landing 3, 4 or 5 scatters in the base game, gives you 10, 15 or 20 free spins respectively.

During free spins, a Bonus Meter will appear above the reels. This fills with each Detective symbol you land. You need 3 Detective symbols to trigger a Big Boss bonus. Here’s what’s up for grabs:

Firstly, the Unusual Suspects slot is a good looking game. Whilst there may be some controversy about being on the side of the cops at this moment in time, it’s well designed with a great soundtrack.

When it comes to gameplay, there’s a couple of things that are quite exciting, even if they’re not as ‘unusual’ as the title suggests. The framed positions can lead to big wins in the base game, as they stick around until filled with wilds and add multipliers. What’s more, as the Detective symbol automatically fills them with wilds, you’re going to get a decent sized win sooner or later.

The Free Spins feature also hinges on the framed positions, as they never leave the grid. This means you can build multipliers and combine them with the other multipliers won on the bonus trail. This gives you your best chance at reaching those 12,500 x bet max wins.

All in all, whilst the game’s feature aren’t anything too out of the ordinary on their own, they work together well. In our eyes, the Unusual Suspects is a decent slot that’s worth a spin.
