Queen of Alexandria WowPot Slot, Details & Wager Limits
The Queen of Alexandria WowPot slot is played on 5 reels, 3 rows and 10 paylines. It comes with a win both ways engine. That means that you can start a winning combination from reel 1 or reel 5. Landing 3 or more symbols or wilds on a payline creates a winner. The non-jackpot version is the same in this regard.
Stake levels range from 10p to £200 per spin. In the standard version, you can spin away from 10p to £100 a spin. Click on the button to the right of the spin button for autoplay which allows you to run up to 100 autospins.
The volatility in both versions of Queen of Alexandria is medium. The hit frequency rate is 21.69% for the jackpot version and 22% for the standard version. Where the 2 versions differ is in the return to player rate. The Queen of Alexandria WowPot RTP is 92.5% whilst it’s 96% for the standard version.
The max win for the jackpot version is unlimited in theory due to the WowPot jackpot. The most you can win per spin is 1,000 x stake though. The max win in the standard version is 2,500 x stake.
Theme – Audio and Design features – lavish visuals fit for a queen
There’s a rather lavish feel to the design in the Queen of Alexandria WowPot slot. With an ancient Egyptian theme, it’s based on Cleopatra (who is also known as the Queen of Alexandria). There’s a suitably haunting, Arabian-inflected backing track playing while you spin. It works rather nicely in combination with the blingy visuals.
With the Alexandrian skyline in the background, the reels are flanked by ornately designed pillars. You’ll see 5 gemstone symbols, each of which has been embellished with an Egyptian hieroglyph. They’re joined by a lucky 7 and the cat god Bastet. This feline deity is the most lucrative symbol, paying 5, 20 or 25 x your total stake if you land 3, 4 or 5 on a payline. Cleopatra is the wild symbol. She has some magical properties which I’ll look at below.
This Egyptian-themed slot is available to play on mobiles and tablets as well as desktop and laptop computers. The lush visuals and simple gameplay work well on the smaller screens. You’ll also have a chance to land the fixed or WowPot jackpots if you’re playing the Queen of Alexandria WowPot mobile slot.
Queen of Alexandria WowPot Bonus Features
The design here might be on the flashy side but the gameplay is rather understated. The range of extras isn’t massive but expanding wilds and respins mean that there are still some decent opportunities on offer. There are also fixed and WowPot progressive jackpots up for grabs depending on which version of Queen of Alexandria you’re playing.
Expanding Wilds feature
Cleopatra, Queen of Alexandria is the game’s wild symbol. She can land on the middle 3 reels and substitutes for all the standard symbols whenever she forms part of a winning combination. Whenever a wild does land, the Expanding Wilds feature is activated. The wild expands to fill the whole of that reel.
Respin feature
Landing a wild also triggers the Respin feature. The expanded wild locks in position for that respin. If a new wild symbol lands on 1 of the other central reels, the process is repeated. A second stacked wild appears and another respin is awarded.
Land a third wild and you’ll get another respin, this time with all 3 middle reels totally wild. This feature is the same as the one found in NetEnt’s Starburst.
Jackpot features
If you’re playing the Queen of Alexandria WowPot version, you’ll have the chance to play the Progressive Wheel feature. It’s triggered by collecting progressive trigger symbols. The higher your stake, the more likely you are to activate the feature. Once triggered, you’ll spin the Jackpot Wheel which will award 1 of 4 progressive jackpots:
Mini Jackpot | Starts at £10 |
Minor Jackpot | Starts at £100 |
Major Jackpot | Starts at £50,000 |
WowPot Jackpot | Starts at £2 million |
In the standard Queen of Alexandria slot (no jackpots), you have the Jackpot Wheel feature. Here, you’ll have a shot at landing 1 of 4 fixed jackpot prizes. To trigger it, you need to land diamond symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 on the same spin. You’ll then get a spin of the Jackpot Wheel. Depending on where the pointer lands, you’ll win one of the following prizes.
Mini Jackpot | 15 x stake |
Minor Jackpot | 50 x stake |
Major Jackpot | 500 x stake |
Mega Jackpot | 2,500 x stake |
Queen of Alexandria WowPot Review Summary – jackpot version worth playing
The seemingly endless conveyor belt of Egyptian-themed slots shows no sign of slowing down. The Queen of Alexandria WowPot slot is simple but it’s one of the better recent ancient releases. The design is nicely done and the gameplay, though simple can deliver some decent action courtesy of the expanding wilds and respins. As mentioned, it’s been done before with Starburst and countless other games.
Whilst the standard version may have a higher RTP (96% vs 92.5%), the max win per spin is 1,000 x stake in both versions. The Mega Jackpot of 2,500 x stake is decent but the WowPot jackpot of £2 million+ is the swaying factor in my opinion.
It’s not the first time Games Global have released 2 versions of a slot game. Game of Thrones offers 243 ways to win and 15 payline versions. If it’s WowPot jackpot slots you’re after, Book of Atem WowPot offers the same progressive jackpots as well as 5,000 x stake wins on each free spin.
