Hound Hotel Slot Review
Hound Hotel is a Microgaming-powered video slot that has 5 reels and 25 paylines. You can spin away from 25p to £37.50 and is set in a luxury hotel with the main characters being charming dogs. Each groomed to perfection, they each have their own personality and come to life on the reels – it has a mellow swing soundtrack which allows for easy listening. Hound Hotel is virtually identical to the Kitty Cabana slot but with a dog theme (instead of cats).
As with Kitty Cabana, there are lots of bonus features you can benefit from. In the base game, there’s the Dashing Wild feature which is activated at random when you don’t have a winning combination (or spin). This extra wild feature gives you 3 Dashing Wilds which move across the reels in randomly chosen positions.
The main attraction is the Hound Hotel Bonus feature where you will play 1 of 5 wild free spins features. Access to these 5 features is granted when you reveal 3 or more scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. Once in, you need to pick a door on each of the 3 floors to reveal the wild feature (floor 1), your multiplier (floor 2) and number of free spins (floor 3). Hound Hotel, like Kitty Cabana, is a medium variance game which is nicely balanced. The Dashing Wild feature is a nice touch but don’t expect very big wins from it. However, the wild free spins features are much more rewarding with up to 2,933 times your stake on offer.
I prefer this game to Kitty Cabana as I prefer the theme and I love the Super Wild Reels free spins feature – I managed to get 3 wild reels for 4 free spins which resulted in a huge 760 times stake win. Saying that, the games are the same so it’s down to you whether you prefer cats or dogs. If you like wild reels though, you should try Immortal Romance (also by Microgaming) which is a classic and a must if you love your slot games.
