Free Spins Multiplier Feature

In the upper right corner of the game, you’ll see the Free Spins Multiplier. This starts at 1 x and increases by 0.5 every time you land 4 scatters on the reels in the base game.

The multiplier can reach up to a maximum of 10 x in the base game, and up to 15 x when triggering the Free Spins feature. The multiplier is then applied to all wins in the Free Spins round.

You’ll notice pretty quickly that the scatter symbols spell out the word JOKER. Land 5 scatters across all 5 reels (spelling out the word) to trigger the Free Spins feature.

Upon triggering the round, you receive 1 x your stake and 6 free spins. For every scatter symbol, you’ll also receive either 1 additional Free Spin, or increase the Free Spins multiplier by 1 x. This leaves you with a maximum multiplier of 15 x, or a maximum of 11 free spins to begin with.

During the round, the Free Spins multiplier is applied to all wins, though not the jackpots. You can also retrigger the feature by landing 5 more scatters across the reels.

Fire and Roses Joker Summary – all is not as it seems

Let’s start with the positives. The Fire and Roses Joker slot boasts a good-looking design with a fun, albeit slightly annoying, soundtrack. There’s a generous amount of free spins up for grabs, especially if you can retrigger the feature, and there’s 5 jackpots up for grabs of course.

That said, in true circus form, all is not as it first appears. The problem is that the bonus features are very difficult to trigger. You need 4 scatters to increase the Free Spins multiplier and 5 to trigger the Free Spins round. This seems a little excessive – we’d take it down to 3 scatters for Free Spins.

Moreover, the jackpots only increase by 0.5 x bet per each jackpot rose symbol. This means that if you play at £1 per spin, you only increase the jackpot amount by 50p each time a rose lands – and roses don’t even land that often. It seems that reaching the maximum jackpots amounts is nearly impossible. Finally, there’s no guarantee of winning a spin of the jackpot wheel.

We know this is a volatile title, but with an RTP of only 96.01% and max wins of only 5,000 x the bet, it seems like a lot of effort for nothing that spectacular. Essentially, if this circus came to town we’d give it a miss.
