Visually, Neo Spin is rather nice – with a sci-fi feel, it has an 80s soundtrack. With a neon jukebox in the background, symbols are a little odd. They include hexagonal spheres, triangles and cuboids. You’ll also see 7s, bars, lions, unicorns, ankh crosses and Eye of Ras. Winning formations are form when left to right and right to left – i.e. win both ways.
The most important symbol is the Prism which is the wild symbol – appearing on reels 2, 3 and 4, it lands to expand vertically to give you a wild reel. Known as the Sticky Expanding Wild feature, the Prism stays locked in position with the other reels respinning. If you get a winning combination, your win total will be subject to a 2x multiplier.
If extra Prism wilds land, they will also expand and give you another respin with the wild reels in place – all wins on that respin will be subject to a 3x multiplier. The process can occur 1 more time (total of 3 respins) to give you 3 sticky wild reels with your last respin subject to a 4x multiplier.
Simple in terms of gameplay, Neo Spin does remind me a little of NetEnt’s Starburst – in that it comes with expanding wilds that remain locked in place for free subsequent respins. The different being the multipliers which can lead to payouts of 2,689.5 times your stake – it’s medium to high variance.
