The Illogicool slot is played with 6 reels, 6 rows and 46,656 ways to win in total. There’s a main 6×5 grid with a Cool Reel above it. This reel slides in paying and feature symbols from the right. 3, 4, 5 or 6 matching symbols appearing on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel, will form a winning combination.

Theme – join little furry creatures in space

With a space theme, the Illogicool slot is set on a spaceship. Following on from ELK’s Tropicool which was set off the coast of Antarctica, there are more similarities to Cluster Slide as it features similar little furry creatures.

With purple dominating the colour scheme, graphically it has a TV/movie feel as you’ll see cartoon-style images as well as actual pictures of 2 astronauts. The soundtrack is upbeat and feels like a country and western with a bit of dubstep thrown in. It goes full techno mode when you get a decent win. The critters do remind me of the characters from the Critters movie, although not as scary.

Symbols include A, K, Q and J royals alongside computers, ray guns, red spaceships and the 2 astronauts. The latter 2 symbols appear 2 high on the reels. The female astronaut is the highest paying symbol giving you 1, 1.25, 1.5 or 2 x stake for 3, 4, 5 or 6 in combination.

Furthermore, there are 3 wild symbols appearing at some stage or another. There’s a standard W wild that substitutes for all symbols except Bonus or Feature symbols. Then you have Locked and Monster Wilds (more on these below). The gold B symbol is the scatter with the furry B the super scatter.

Avalanche feature

Any winning combination will lead to the Avalanche feature. Winning symbols are removed with the remaining symbols dropping to fill the empty spaces. This is a common feature amongst grid slots by the way.

Troubles feature

Look out for Trouble symbols which fall from the Cool Reel. When these furry critter characters do, it triggers the Troubles feature. Look out for Adjacent Troubles which become sticky and spread on subsequent wins to turn all covered symbols into the same symbol.

Illogicool Review Summary – fun, unique + rewarding

The Illogicool slot is well designed but it’s the soundtrack that stands out. The fun element is evident as it’s quirky and different to say the least. With lots of bonus features, there is plenty going on constantly. I’m not quite sure what the 2 character symbols are there for. ELK Studios could have easily created some aliens/furry creatures instead to tie in with the theme fully. That’s my only gripe.

Illogicool is all about the Free Drops Bonus Game feature due to the increasing win multiplier. If you trigger the Super version, a starting multiplier of up to 30x will surely increase your chances of hitting the 10,000 x stake max wins possible. In the free spins, the soundtrack goes into overdrive. Be prepared to fully release your inner party animal or hit the mute button.

Whilst the space theme is common, ELK Studios has done a great job at creating something unique. The soundtrack really makes Illogicool stand out. I was truly immersed from the very first spin. I just hope you get to experience the Super Free Drops Bonus Game feature as the win multiplier is the key to big wins. Overall, I really like this and I hope it gets the recognition it deserves.
