Gladiatoro RTP, Details & Wager Limits

The Gladiatoro slot is initially played on 5 reels and 4 rows, with 178 ways to win. That said, the grid can expand to 5×6 in size, creating 340 ways to win. We’ll talk more about how you can do this later in this review. To create a win, simply land 3 or more matching symbols on adjacent reels, from left to right, starting at reel 1.

You can play the slot for 20p up to £100 per spin, which Is normal for ELK Studios slots. To adjust your bet, click the left of the the reels. This brings up a list of 12 preset bet sizes. Players outside of the UK can also use the Autoplay option by holding down the main spin button. This allows you to spin between 10 and 100 times without clicking.

Gladiatoro is highly volatile and comes with an RTP rate of 94%, which is quite a bit below average. Whilst this means the game won’t be making it onto our top RTP slots list anytime soon, the good news is that it offers 10,000 x bet max wins. To reach these heights, you need to achieve a full screen of coin icons in the bonus round.

As the name suggests, Gladiatoro features the popular Toro character from Wild Toro and Wild Toro 2, naturally. This time, however, our bull friend is visiting Ancient Rome and going head to head with Matador, the son of the emperor, who forced him into life as a gladiator.

The graphics are fantastic and have that classic ELK Studio look about them. In the base game, we find ourselves in Gladiatoro’s waiting cell under the Colosseum, whilst the bonus round takes place on the open stage.

On the reels, low-paying symbols are represented by the roman numerals V, X, C and M, whilst higher-value symbols include vases, watermelons and helmets. The rose is the highest paying regular symbol, rewarding you with 5 x your bet for a 5-of-a-kind combination.

Gladiatoro also comes with a range of special symbols, including both wilds and scatters. Toro, the Matador, and Diaz symbols are also present. We’ll explain how these work next.

Special Symbols Feature

In both the base game and free spins, there are 4 different special symbols you can land at any time. These each work as follows:

Special Symbol	Description
Wild Toro	Walking wild that generates respins as he moves left. Also doubles value of any coins he passes.
Diaz	Collects the value from all coin currently on the reels and pays out the collected value times the current bet level.
Matador	2+ triggers the Matador Respins feature.
Level Up	Increase the number of rows by 1, up to 6 at most, and increase the number of ways to win to a maximum of 340.

Respins Feature

If you land 2 or more Matador symbols in the base game, you trigger the Matador Respins feature. You receive 1 respin and the Matador symbol remains sticky. You will also receive an extra respin for each subsequent Matador symbol that lands.

Toro Goes Wild Feature

As the story goes, Toro and the Matador do not get on. So, if both symbols land on the reels simultaneously, the Toro Goes Wild feature is triggered. This means Toro charges at the Matador, chasing the Matadors off the reels. He also leaves a trail of wild symbols in his path.

Gladiator Bonus Feature

Land 3 or more coin scatters in the base game, and you trigger the Gladiator Bonus feature. You receive 3 free spins initially and these are played on different reels. The coins that triggered the feature are carried over though only coins, special symbols, or blanks may now appear.

Special symbols work as follows:

• Coins – Award multiplier values and remain sticky until the end of the feature.
• Matador – Upgrades a random number of coins.
• Persistent Matador – Upgrades a random number of coins on that spin and each following spin. Remains until the end of the feature.
• Diaz– Collects the value of all coins on the grid.
• Persistent Diaz – Collects the value of all coins at the end of the spin and each following spin. Remains until the end of the feature.
• Level Up -Expands the grid and turns into a coin.
• Toro – Awards a respin and moves to the left until falling off the first reel. These spins do not count toward the main respin count. Toro does not interact with persistent symbols.

Finally, fill the grid with coin symbols and you will receive the maximum win of 10,000 x your bet.

If you’ve played and enjoyed any of the other Toro games from ELK Studios, the good news is that this release offers more of the same. The graphics are similar, characters return, and the always entertaining Toro Goes Wild feature is present too.

That said, there are plenty of new gameplay features to enjoy too. Notably, the hold’n win style Gladiator Bonus feature is rewarding, with a whole host of special symbols available to increase your payouts. What’s more, the animations during the whole thing are fantastic.

The real disappointment is the 94% RTP rate. Whilst we now expect this from ELK Studios, it’s way below average. 10,000 x bet max wins sweeten the deal, however.

Overall, Gladiatoro isn’t the most revolutionary of slots, though it’s definitely fun. If you’re a fan of the Toro character, it’s well worth a spin. Check out how it compares to the other slots in the series below:
