The theme in the Buffalo Toro slot is pretty clear from the title. It’s all about buffalos and the wilderness. Toro has gone a lot further west in this release as he aims to save the golden buffalos and stop the Matador from finding them. The reels are set in mountains you’d see in Yellowstone National Park, and the game’s accompanied by an upbeat soundtrack that intensifies when bonus features land.

In terms of visuals, it’s quite basic as you spin initially, but when winners land and walking wilds appear on the reels, it really adds to the overall excitement with some fun animations.

Matador Respins feature

Toro Goes Wild feature

To trigger this feature, you either need to land a Toro when Matadors are in view or land 1 or more Matadors when the Toro is in view. Toro will move vertically and then horizontally to knock all Matadors off the reels, leaving wild symbols behind. Toro will continue to attack until there are no Matadors left.

Bonus Game and Super Game feature

If you’ve played Wild Toro or Wild Toro 2, you’ll understand what this slot is all about. The bonus features are similar in all 3 slots as well as Book of Toro, which this game follows. They’ve done a fantastic job switching up the theme, and features such as Rampage Reels, Toro Goes Wild and the Bonus games do not let you down. They’re great.

The main negative here though is the low RTP of 94%. ELK flirted with 95% for a while but they’ve dropped it down a whole percentage point for this one, so it’ll be interesting to see how it’s received. But on the plus side, there are max win possibilities of 50,000 x your stake, which is not to be sniffed at.

While the Rampage Reels feature is brilliant, it’s very difficult to land during natural gameplay, so don’t get too disheartened if you don’t manage to land this too often. Of course, if you’re outside the UK you could just buy it.

Overall, it’s a solid release from ELK Studios and they’ve improved on the previous titles, which is what follow-up slots should all be about. It gets a thumbs up from me even with the lower-than-average RTP.
